Ideas for everyday cards?

I'm new to card making, and have already run out of ideas! It's so hot here right now I can't be outside, so I'd like to make a stash of cards for mailing out this fall and winter. What are you favorite every day, no occasion necessary type cards? Especially for 19 y/o boys? Nothing too racy or religious please, he is the son of my friend and is on his church mission. Thanks!!

How did you make the shape on the last card? Is it from a cricut cart?

I used my silhouette on that shape, but there is a spellbinders die that is very similar.

My friend has spellbinders, I'll check with her to see if she has that one.

Check out the cards on Robyn the Pink Stamper's website. She has tons of videos on how to make her cards. Her cards are adorable and most are for everyday!

Basically play with coordinating colors and prints and layer for a nice feel.Most importantly have fun, that is when the best creating happens, when you dont force it and just let it come naturally.

I like to look at blogs for tutorials on different types of card folding. Youtube is a great resource for me too.

Kristina Werner has some great card videos. She posts them on her blog (KWernerdesign.com) through Youtube. She has some simple, fresh ideas that make it easy for anyone to make cards. I've learned a lot of from her.
