For those of you with a Cricut...

Do you still have the original packing materials? How long did you keep your box(es)? If you are planning on keeping the boxing, any particular reason why?

This house is busting at the seams - but I don't want to get rid of the boxes if there is a compelling reason for keeping them.

Are you talking about the box the Cricut came in or the cartridge boxes??

I have both. I have my scrap paper stored in my Cricut box right now and it works great for me. I keep my cartridge boxes to keep them in...stores nicely that way!

I still have mine but that is because my circut lives in its box... but I was reading the manual and they actually suggest that you keep it... Why I have no clue... but that is what I read. (but to be honest if my cricut wasn't in the box I would have probably trashed it.)

I still have my box. I keep it cause I travel with my Cricut alot and that what I use to tote it around in.

If you ever need to return it to the manufacturer because of a defect or a problem, they are probably going to want it in the original box.

I still have my box but I just got my Cricut a few days ago. I usually keep boxes like this for a few months just in case. I figured I'd be able to return it if I couldn't get the thing to work. I don't know if I would ever have to send it in for service but the box would be good for that.

I also kept my box, got in Jan.

My box was in the trash about 5 minutes after I brought my Cricut home.

I kept my box also, got mine about a month ago. It's highly unlikely that I will ever need to travel with it since the only places I ever go already have a cricut, but now that I think about it, that would be handy. I'm keeping it just in case I ever need to return mine, because when I first got it, it started acting up. I don't know how I wasn't using it correctly, but I'm sure I wasn't because now it's working just fine.

I saved mine for a few months "just in case", but I just threw it away like last month.

I still have my box. My scraproom is also a guest room. When guest come, the cricut goes into the box. I would love the cricut tote but I can't see paying that kind of cash on a storage tote.

I also have my cartridges in their boxes. I did see on the cricut site you can alter these boxes. Something to think about it you are going to trash the cartridge box.

I kept the box because it's an electronic peice of equipment, if I throw the box away it'll immediately crash and need to be sent in for repairs. That's just the way life goes in my household!
You can get the tote bag for a great price at scrap happy shop dot com. I so want one but really can't justify spending $36 on a bag. Well I could but my dh just shattered the front glass on our new oven this evening. I'm thinkin' that's going to cost a bit...

I put mine in the trash as soon as I cut my first effort. HOWEVER, my husband brought it back to me with a reminder that we are moving this summer and it would protect it from damage.

As soon as it gets unpacked on the other end....adios box!

I used my Cricut probably 60-80 times before I found a key that didn't work at all. Called Provo Craft and they had me try to reset the machine with no luck so they told me to either return it to the store where I bought it or I could ship it back to them. I attempted to return it to Walmart but they wouldn't let me. I was told I'd have to return it to PC for Warranty repair. When I called PC back they advised me I definitely had a defective machine and they told me they'd ship me a brand new one; however, I'd need to return my original machine to them in the original box with the original packing materials, packed the ORIGINAL way (meaning I had to dismantle the blade and blade housing and I actually had to wrap the blade in the original packing material and TAPE IT TO THE OTHER STUFF JUST THE WAY IT WAS ORIGINALLY PACKED. They sent me detailed instructions on how I had to repack the crazy thing - it was off the wall, really! BUT they did pay for shipping both ways so it cost me nothing to return the machine or get the new one. One thing I did have to do though before they would ship me another machine was to give them a debit/credit card number. If they didn't receive the defective machine within 3 weeks of the date I received the new one, they would have charged my account the purchase price of a new machine. All in all I had a good experience with PC and I definitely have kept the original box/packing materials that came with the new one too. HTH.

Yikes, I kept my box, but I dont remember if I kept all the packaging!!! Thats a little rediculous I think!!! They know that people dont keep all that stuff like the plastic that the blade comes in.... come on seriously!!! I just dont think that is right that they made you do that. It seems like a cop out for them!!!

P.S. I love my cricut but I would be VERY angry if I had to send it back and I didnt have the plastic the blade came in and they said that was unacceptable!

It is really a pain to keep boxes, but I kept mine because we tried to return a VCR that broke a few months ago and they wouldn't take it because we didn't have the box.

I have my box! My cartridge boxes I've kept too. Things I keep in them are-staples,slidemounts,l arge buttons,big grommets,alphas,flowers....they are handy!

I am keeping my box as well. I did throw away the plastic material that the user guide/reg. form came in and the red blade packaging. Should I did it out?

Saved my boxes, that way everything is nice, neat, and easy to find and in one place.... i.e. the keypad and the cartridge. I'm easily distracted, so what I can make simple, I do it.

Unfortunately my basement is only good for things like brewing beer or hiding bodies. (Not that we're actually using it for either right now...) Literally, the Cricut box has to stay out in the open if I wish to keep it.

I do keep my cartridges in their original boxes - I think they store perfectly that way, and I don't have so many that I feel the need to pull the cartridge/overlays out and store in some other fashion.

I suppose I'll keep the box just in case the Cricut needs servicing. I had heard that the customer service is very good. Hopefull I'll never need it.

I have my box, but no packaging at all. . . does that mean they wouldn't honor the warranty, if I needed to have my Cricut replaced?

dont' forget to register your cricut online! that way you can get warranty help if anything ever goes wrong with it!
