Breakfast pizza for breakfast
Steak fingers,wheat roll, mashed potatoes and an assortment of fruits and veggies or baked potato with cheese..(mmmmmm)

Finally got Raven to sleep in her room last night. She still chose to sleep on the floor though. Can't figure that out!

:yawns: I'm here. Just finished getting a little girl dressed and convincing her that pink "hop tops" do NOT go with a red-and-denim dress and red socks. Let me tell you, THAT was a hard sale!!!!

He needs to accept that certain things are my decisions with or without his blessings. I know he can make things difficult for me to go, and I'm fully expecting him to pull some sort of money stunt right before this event. Good morning! I made it out of bed, so I'm faring pretty well, I guess.

I took the kids to school, no makeup, hair washed & brushed but not styled, no jewelry, first clothing that came to hand. Get the picture? I look and feel like warmed over dead. As I'm waiting to cross the street, cute cop asked me to lunch. WTH? I think maybe he has vision problems, lol. Made me feel good, though.

A dear friend of mine's dd was ... being loose, very loose and using drugs (which seems to go hand in hand these days) and disrupting their home. She was already "legal" and liked to throw that in her parents' face when they tried to reign her in.

My advice was to kick her out. It wasn't like they were throwing out a virgin dd who might lose her innocence was my thinking.

Well, not even a couple months after giving this advice did I find out about my dd's ... transgressions. We got a call from her then bf's sister who told us what was going on. She was being mean spirited and was angry at our dd. All trust went out the door. DD was already 18 by this time and working full time.

It wasn't too long before she split with this guy.

Then she started breaking house rules again with phone calls of all things! When we told her to stop this, she decided to just leave. This was motivated by finding out that one of the girls she worked with, that she had previously rejected as a possible roomie, was her bio-dad's step-sister. Talk about a small, dysfunctional world!!!

It didn't take her a month before she was knocked up. Four months before I knew about it. And I'd never met the guy before that. And in fact didn't for some time. My thoughts were "what's the point now" and "it probably won't last" so don't get close.

I'm rambling, I know. DD and I were very ugly toward each other for some time. We're still in the healing process from that and that was 4 years ago!

I've deliberately made myself unavailable to babysit. She's had "fits" about those times. I just remind her of our agreement when they moved next to us. I've always made it clear that I will not be a full time care giver to her kids. I want to fully enjoy them.

She's 32, plenty old enough to know better. When I picked up the kids, her car was in the driveway. Apparently after I griped at her, she drove her drunk self home. I asked her if she was getting back with him, nope cause exbf #2 is coming in on Friday so she wants to be available.

I know its absolutely none of my business what she does. It just really upsets me that she is setting such a lousy example for her kids. Their dad is already such a "sterling" character. OK, I'm through griping. I think.

Oh yeah, Nephew that has picture day today came out wearing sweatpants and a filthy tee. I had to go back in with him to find something semi-clean and nice looking to wear.

OK, now I'm really through.

I imagine it was! If you look at my myplace photo, Savannah is wearing pale pink western boots. She was firmly convinced they went with everything, including shorts and sweatpants. I started hiding them and only retrieving them if she had on an outfit they would match. She cried so badly when she finally outgrew them. This year she wants a red pair, couldn't like the black ones that actually would match most everything.

Well, we all have to eat, so your answer could be yes? But then ... it could be no? I'm overthinking here. Can you upload a picture of Sexy Buff Cop so I can make a better guess?

I would love a red pair of boots!!! Hmmm....

Down in the stockyards, they make custom boots. One style was black with cutout stars. Inside the cutouts was silver glittered leather. I thought of you.

Just dropping in for a quick good morning. Micayla loved her "tools" and has been playing with them all morning. I also did a key for her to start the rocket ship. Well gotta go take my sister to work (She went part time this week), talk to you all later.

When I was a single mom, I met all sorts of guys, most were, shall we just say, not keepers. I'd ask early on if they had kids. Most would light up and talk about theirs kids in a warm loving way. I'd then ask when was the last time you saw them with a big encouraging smile/tone. Most would say months, some even years. That was the clincher for me. I'd not go out with those at all or bother to get to know them better.

And no, most didn't have a good excuse like their kids were overseas or in Alaska. Most of them had kids within the state, if not the same town. Some even tried to blame their x as the reason. Sorry, if they wanted to see their kids, they'd do whatever it took. If they're not going to fight for their own kids, they don't need to be around mine!

She must look so cute playing with them. Make sure to get some pics!

I just got some great pics of Noah rocking out to the Veggietales Silly Songs with Elves using his Backyardigans guitar. Now I want to go print so I can scrap them! Oh, the addiction.

I think the school and bus drivers can tell the difference between who dresses Lizzie. When MOMMY dresses her, her hair is done and her clothes are clean and match. When DADDY dresses her, NOTHING matches as he lets her pick out her own clothes, shoes, and socks, and she will barely stand still long enough for him to run a brush through her "hairs."

BTW, Lizzie and I have matching pink Converse "hop tops," they're our "mother-daughter" shoes. So Jory wouldn't feel left out, I got him a boys' pair in black. We're goofy.

Last nights exbf guy? He has 7 kids, none of which live with him. Sis has 3. I say find a single guy who can't have kids but really wants to help raise and support yours. Exbil hasn't paid a penny of child support in 7 years, you think she'd run from the type.

I'll be here on and off today, I have to put together a vacuum cleaner, finish some laundry and find a therapist that will take my #$%$% insurance. Sorry, just a little frustrated with the HMO, does H in HMO stand for Hell???

Both parents thought she was nuts. Then on the phone with a coworker the father discovers that his coworker's kids are watching the same show on a channel they didn't get. So then they made jokes about getting cable channels for free but only that dd could watch. Imagine, no noise or picture but the kid was still greatly entertained.

I'm back now, with Lizzie. I just spent ten minutes convincing her that pizza rolls are best eaten cooked, as she wanted to eat hers frozen. Silly girl! She wanted to go "shop it," but I already "shopped it" for today. I said maybe tomorrow we'd "shop it."

Vivian - I'm sorry DH is being such a stinker. If there's anything I can do, let me know.

Suzie - Sometimes the right flirty moment will perk up a girl's day. I'm glad you had that moment.

Vivian - It IS too easy to make excuses, which is why we have some pretty clear lines shaping up. Overall, things are working pretty smoothly here. We just hit these bumps occasionally and I need to remind her that it's not all about her and what's most comfortable for her, but that there are others to be considered, too. And then she'll usually be more conscientious about it the next time. We're still trying to find our balance...

Suzie - Do you have a camera phone? Take a quickie sneaky pic of SBC.

This one has his kid 50% of the time - more if he can get it. (And he sometimes does, because he says his ex considers the kid to be an "inconvenience" and a "paycheck" and is usually glad to let the kid stay with his dad extra time.) GoI said that his own parents are still married, so he had no idea what to expect from a divorce situation. All he knew was that he needed to fight to have as much time and say-so with his kid as possible. He filed for full custody, knowing he probably wouldn't get it, but also knowing he needed to have at least joint custody.

Now, the kind of "proud dad" you described...that would be ED. *sigh*

Okay...so far I've talked to two people and left messages for two others about this online teaching thing. I need to get registered in the system as a student so I can take the certification class, but the class itself is free. They teach you how to design an online class. The person who had the initial info said it's really intensive, so I might not be here much for the next six weeks. But after that, I could/should be set to work from home (legitimately!) and make a respectable part-time income.

And now DGS is waking from his nap, so I guess playtime is over. See you all later.

Jenni, I used to be down on myself for choosing to marry my first dh and have a baby with him. Then someone pointed out that all, as in every, baby is from God. He picks and chooses the gene combos (let's not go into the fallen nature here). So regardless of the paternity or maternity of a child, each and every child is a gift from God.

Dd was the ONLY good thing I got from my first marriage. Even with everything she's put me through and herself, she's still worth going through that marriage.

I remember Poltergeist but that was with a snowy screen and not invisible funny cartoons. I'm sure there was another movie or show that had a kid watching a show that wasn't visible to others. ???

Ria, everyone in our family has a pair of Converse Chuck Taylors. DD has pink high tops and DS has black ones(he grew out of them and I need to buy more). DH wore black high tops and I wore red low tops to our wedding. I am going to do a LO of it when I find the "perfect" paper.

That is cute. Jeremy doesn't care much for them. There's an idea for Tinkerbrat's wedding, though...get a pair to match my gown and wear 'em underneath...I said I'd wear the dress, I said HELL NO to heels...she'll be lucky if I don't find a pair of matching Crocs and bling 'em out. 'Cuz I can do that. Bling is a beautiful thing.
