Spellbinders Users with Artbin Magnetic Storage Case Question and Poll

I LOVE my Artbin Magnetic Case as I do all of their products. HOWEVER I think it is not perfect, a slightly flawed product. Here is an email that I sent the company. I'm sure that they will just jump right in an take my suggestion!

This is a comment / suggestion more than a question. I have several ArtBin storage solutions for scrapbooking. Love them all. My favorite is the Magnetic Die Storage Case, I have it pretty full of Spellbinders & Cheery Lynn dies. I will soon need a second case! I am a little disappointed that I cannot store my Spellbinders GRAND dies in the case. I have to keep them in the plastic that they came in, separate from the other dies. This makes any die less convenient to use, when they are not stored properly. I have eight sets of the Spellbinders Nestabilities GRANDS. They are either too long or too wide to fit into the Magnetic Case.

I hesitated buying the Artbin Magnetic Case because of the size issue. I am wondering if other people have requested the same product with a slightly larger profile? It's unfortunate that you did not make it with just slightly larger dimensions so it would be a solutions for all of the die sizes. I am wondering if you have plans to make one?

So I am actually wondering how many Spellbinders users here agree with me? One of the main reasons I got a GRAND Calibur is because of the GRAND dies. I just wish they could all be stored together.

Would you buy a larger Magnetic Storage?

I JUST got one yesterday and can't wait to finally have a good "home" for my dies. I don't own any Grand ones yet, but that is good to know.

I wouldn't buy one, but I have no use for the Grands, if I want something that large I just make it with my Gazelle electronic cutter. And a bigger case would be HEAVY when full. But I can see the utility if you have a lot of Grands.

I thought about the weight. The one they have now is heavy when full tho'. Actually, the overall size would need to be only slightly larger. That is why I say they missed the boat. Since I have 8 sets of those, I would really LOVE it!

I'm thinking that maybe the Grand Dies have not been a big seller. I love them!

I truly love the idea of this case, but I tend to be a messy scrapper,,,,which means, I don't put away my dies the second I am done with them,,,,

which means, that unless I Have the cover stored with the dies, I don't necessarily know if one is missing or not,,,

I simply HAVE TO store my cover with my dies so that I know how many of each set there are if I need to hunt for one.

I'm very happy with the one I have now--but I don't have a Grand Calibur or Grand dies--and, truthfully, am not planning on getting them.

i can fit my grand dies in it. i have the donna salazar sets...no nesting dies. i found the magnet sheets on my artbin bowed a bit and the dies just fell off. I do like my lifestyles crafts/quickcuts magnet storage sheets

I don't have any Grands, but I have a border that I have to put diagonal since it's just a tad too long. I love the case, but mine has a big crack in the bottom of it. I don't take it anywhere and it sits on a carpeted floor. So far it's not falling apart, but it just seem like it shouldn't have cracked.

I was keeping the folder in the case, under the mats, but now I scan the folder when I get it, so I have all the info. in a file on the computer, then I toss all the packaging. On the mats, after I place a set of dies, I take a Sharpie and write the name, product #, and how many dies are in the set next to the dies. Then I number where each die goes so I instantly know if I need to go searching for a lost one.

It will be interesting to see if you hear back from them~Judy

I keep only the front of the folder. I punch a hole in the top and have them on a chain so I can flip through them to review the names and consider what to use. Yes I have one that has to go in diagonally too.

I store all of my Nesties in an Iris case. I take 12x12 chipboard (like on the back of some paper packs) and use magnetic strips on the chipboard. Then I put the die on the strips and just sit the whole thing down inside the Iris case. I can layer several this way. However, I have so many Nesties sets that it is heavy.

I also have the Art Bin case, which I use for shaped dies like leaves, flowers, doilies, etc (not Nesties). This system works for me because I have tons of dies.

With the Art Bin case, I think the latches on it are very hard to open. It might just be my particular case, but those puppies hate to move and it irritates me each time I open it. I also think the cost is ridiculous. I got it on clearance when my LSS went out of business.
