Bending album pages

I have three different 12x12 albums, none are "name brand" albums. I find that my pages often bend/curl when I turn the pages. I generally don't even use the white pages they provide -- just the papers used in the LOs (one in front and one in back on each page). Does everyone else have this problem? For pages that are really stiff, you can tell that the page is trying to bend. It's as if the album pages aren't quite wide enough to handle the page turning. Why don't they make them page protectors just a hair bigger? I find this so annoying. Is it just me?

I have found that occasionally and it was with a cheaper, lesser quality album. I did trim the cardstock so they fitted better then just avoided that make in the future!

I thought I was the only one!!! I even went as far to compare different paper together to see if they were the same size! I finally figured it was the album and trimmed the paper just a hair...

my pages only curl when i slide the LO in crooked, or if it is fulllllly loaded. :-) to keep it from getting crushed i add more of the cardboard spacers around that page to give it room.

Gosh!!! That is my biggest headache right now!!! I'm so afraid to spend the $$$ on a new album only to find that it might do this again! I have a Pioneer album and it bends TERRIBLY!!! I do like doing 3-D embellies so that needs to be taken into consideration for my new album. Does anyone have any suggestions for good albums? I don't like CM because their albums aren't "true" 12x12 (they're a little bit smaller) and you have to glue the LO to the page (not my ideal scenario). I've thought about CTMH? Or what about K&Co?

I found this problem but found the page protectors at Michaels craft store that have a 1/2" extender. That seems to help me.

also is you loosen the fabric or canvas or whatever binding you have along the spine it doesn't do it so much

Some of mine I have to trim... some of my pages say "true 12x12" so there are obviously fakers out there, but the smaller ones seem to work better anyways.

"The perfect scrapbook" by Colorbok is probably my favorite brand...true 12x12 paper fits nicely in there, although if you use lots of 3-d and really bumpy stuff you still may have a problem.

I totally agree! This is the brand I use most often, try them, you'll love them.

I always have to trim the 12x12 pages a hair on each side so they slide into the top loading pages. I do one scrapbook page with the white backing and don't put two pages back to back in the same clear page. That helps make things sit better. And so far mine haven't bent.

I totally agree that these are the best albums and I've tried them ALL! A close second are Chatterbox . Both have albums with a "bookshelf" back that allows for optimal expansion of the albums. In the Colorbok albums I have put up to 60 page protectors without a problem (that's 120 pages) and my pages are not just pictures and paper I add quite a bit to some of them. I think you could probably add up to 70 if your pages are thin and you can find 2" posts to replace the pieced together ones for stability. Colorbok has fabic covered albums called the perfect scrapbook and you can use fabric pens, paint or markers to decorate the albums if you want. If you go with these, you'll need to use the page protectors made for their albums. The holes on these are sligtly off so they won't line up with the holes on the generic ones. Hope that helps!

You may have to trim some papers. It seems you never really know. The true 12x12 is a good idea but seems like I have had trouble with some of those also. Just remember as you go and not buy the ones you find that aren't.
