What is your favorite embellishments?

i like jolee's botique. they were one of the first embellishments i loved when i first seriously started scrapping, and still do today. the fabrics they use on the baby clothes stickers are especially cute. :smile : my 2nd favorite would be Bo Bunny press stickers. a lot of them (at least the ones i am fond of) have a nice 3-d look but is not heavy on the paper.

I love flowers. I'm just a flower person, what can I say? LOL

I love flowers, ribbons and buttons the most... and chipboard.

I haven't done a page in so long though that I can hardly think of what I'd be inclined to use. LOL

Flowers, ribbon, stickers, just to name a few.

stickles, chipboard,buttons, just about anything that matches my lo!!

Another question....are rub ons hard to use? I never used them before but now I have picked up a few. So pretty!

Melissa, I'm a flower person too....I am afraid I will over do with them.

I love using flowers, ribbon, brads, and ink. I also like embellishing with patterened papers. I tend to find that I like my layouts lot before sticking a bunch of stuff on so I just stop there. Rubons are super easy to use. Just make sure you have it held down good until you know it is starting to stick. Rub over it good with the stick and you will see the backing change colors when it has released. Have fun!

I VERY rarely buy premade scrapbooking embellishments, I like to make my own. I do like the Prima Say it in Crystals and Glitz Frosting, and I can't make those

I LOVE Prima IOD stamps, they're just awesome! The build a frames are fantastic, I've made tons of transparency frames lately. I also like Autumn Leaves , but haven't seen anything fantastic from them lately.

There are some awesome ESTY vintage stamps that I've seen as well. I can't remember the studio name though at the moment.

I find the best prices for things at Hobby Lobby when they have their 50% off sales. If I can't get something there, I usually go to my Local scrapbook store .

I'm just re-entering scrapbooking after a break tool. I still love brads and other bits of metal (but I'm not big on eyelets unless I need to thread fiber or ribbon through them). I'm really warming up to rhinestones as well and I *love* chipboard and other thick alphabets.

Rub-ons definately take patience!! Sometimes they're really easy to use, other times you need to rub and lift at the same time... They can be great but a pain at the same time.

That being said! ALWAYS take a chance. Remeber that you can always re-do a page if you don't like the way it comes out. Always give something a try if it looks interesting to you. There's no wrong way to scrapbook. Just different ways.

Making Memories rub on letters are a good thing to start with.

I'm getting some great ideas and feeling a little less overwhelmed,

I think I have to say Rubons are very versatile; my favorite stamps so far have been CLose to my Heart ones.

I just use Stazon ink with stamps and create the frames, shapes, and overlays. It's really quite fun!

very cool transparencies Amy. I've seen your posts about similar projects where you've created your own embellishments and I have to say I'm very impressed with your creativity.

Maybe you could go to my place and just rub your finger on the monitor... maybe some creativity will rub off and I can pick it up the next time i'm in. lol Seriously... I wish I could think more creatively and self sufficiently than I do. good job!

I like rubons, paint and foam stamps (because they are really cheap). I really like acrylic stamps. I find a lot of good deals at Michaels and Joannes. Both of the scrapbook store s I go to have frequent buyer cards.

So far I really like flowers, ribbon, brads, and Jolee's. I am starting to do paper piercing to add yarn to my LOs. For my next project, I would like to use paper pierced titles to sew in the title letters instead of stickers.

There is a special cleaner out there for rubber stamps, but if you don't want to spend the money or can't find it, use alcohol free baby wipes!

As for my fave embellies, my tastes seem to change constantly. Right now, I love rain dots, chipboard, buttons, and flowers. I have noticed that my style has changed, too. I used to be clean and simple, but lately, I've been going nuts putting embellies all over the place!

As for cheap places to get stuff - Big Lots, Dollar Tree (NOT Dollar General), and the Target $1 aisle. Michael's also has a $1 aisle where you can find cute little acrylic (clear) stamps. You can use an empty CD case as your base for the stamps if you don't want to buy the block. I buy most things when there are sales at Michaels, JoAnn's and AC Moore.

This week, Frugalities is having 49% off. I have gotten a lot from them too and have never had the problems that some others have mentioned. Embellishments etc also has cheap embellies and very reasonable shipping.

I'm glad to hear you say that about frugalities... i've never ordered from them but they have some of the best deals on Bazzill that I've seen on the net and i can't wait to totally splurge on myself and just completely stock up on Bazzill ! but I will for sure be waiting for a 49% off time... and right now i can't afford it.

I am addicted to buying stickers!

Stamps... I don't use stamps as much as I'd like to. I like the graphic design stamps, like a paint splotch or a cross-hatched design or a flourish.

Best prices... hmmm... I love to buy things on sale! Here at scrapbook.com is my favorite place to shop because it just has SUCH a great selection (and they ALWAYS have a coupon)!

And when I need something that they don't have here, I just do a Google search for whatever it is and find the lowest price out there. I've probably shopped at 5 other places on the net, but only once each. I've shopped here at least five times.

Also, I'm a consultant for Memory Works... 20% off is better than nothing! And I'm always getting emails about sales and specials there too, which is great! Sometimes I get stuff that's 50% off, and I love that! This is a great time of year to shop because old products are being sold cheaper to make room for the new stuff from the Winter Craft & Hobby Association show (when all new stuff comes out... one is in summer too).

Oh God, I love all embellies LOL..but getting into Jolees and gonna try some chiboard, but usually stickers and anything my Cricut can make. Oh yeah lets not forget glitter to anything and everything!

This is hard! I love flourish stamps, flowers, ribbons, buttons, eyelets, brads, Jolees stickers~

I am in love with stickles and bling right now.

I don't have a preference for stamps. I get both the clear ones and ones on wood blocks. The clear stamps are nice to have especially when using alphabets because you can see where you are placing them.

I have found great deals at Big Lots. I also wait for sales and Coupons before I buy something.

I have heard so much about Big Lots, must find a way to get to the only one we have around,

I have bought some rubber stamps but not many, the cost is pretty high for me right now. I have bought more foam stamps and clear stamps. They are cheaper. Question, how do you clean the rubber stamps? Just soap and water? I had never used them before when I scraped.

Also, the ink to use on transparencies, do other inks work or is Staz the best?

I would love to go to a scrapbook store ,wow!!

To clean stamps there is a cleaner in the stamp aisle next to the ink pads. I have found that Staz-On cleans the best! That stuff is awesome!

it really is.. and i think it actually would help prolong the life of your rubber and acrylic stamps because it is just a tad oily so I think it would act as a moisturizer or lubricant to help prevent them from drying out and cracking. and it smells nice, too. it's lemon scented!
