Embossing?

What would you recommend as the best embossing machine?

There is cuttlebug, sizzix, spellbinders??

I figure if I'm going to make the investment I want to get a great product. Which one is the easiest to use, has the best dies, is the most versatile? I hear some can even use other manufacturer's dies...

I mainly want it for embossing. I already have a cricut which I've hardly used.

I use the cuttlebug -- I got it on ebay at a pretty good price. Sadly I don't use it as often as I should.

I have a cuttlebug && love mine! I got it w/ a 50% coupon (before you couldn't use it at M's on Cricut stuff). A lot of people DONT like spellbinders machines but I LOVE the folders and the cutting templates!

Basically it comes down to personal preference. I have a Cuttlebug and love it.

If you only need it for embossing and not die cutting, I would go with the Texture Boutique. It's less expensive and takes all the embossing folders. I LOVE MINE!

I have the Cuttlebug and love it. I use it every time I make a card.

I heard it doesn't take the 5x7 embossing folders.

Amy - thanks for the advice. i was looking into a texture boutique but if it doesnt take larger folders that could be a problem..

Does anyone know if I can use the embossing folders with the original sizzix? I have it and since I got my cricut I have hardly used it. Also don't have many dies because they are so expensive. The original sizzix was a gift YEARS ago. I was thinking of getting rid of it and getting one of the smaller versions, but if I can use the embossing templates with the original...I can keep it and use!! I know I can use the sizzlets with an adapter. Would it kind of be the same?

I just got a Cuttlebug and love it! It embosses really well and die cuts great too! I got mine at Micheal's for $47 without the 40% off coupon!! It was already on sale! I was so excited! Hope you find something that works great for you!!
