A while ago, there was talk on here somewhere about the problem of putting brads in a straight line. I always hated trying to do that, only with one coming out a little off kilter. I found the answer (at least for me!)
Several years ago I decided I was going to learn to sew, and I got all the tools my teacher had. Well, the sewing thing didn't last but when I was cleaning the other day, I came across the Simflex Expanding Sewing Gauge. I don't even know if they still make them or not, but they are for putting buttons on a garment. It has little "points" and you can stretch it out how ever far you need it. Man, it works perfect for the brad thing!
Just thought I'd pass that little tidbit on. May not be useful to anyone but me.
Edit: I just checked & found one for $15.99. A little pricy, but I can see several uses for this.
