scrapbook bingo and other crop games

Hi there.

I just started hosting a monthly crop and am trying to get people excited to increase/maintain crop attendance. For our first crop I posted a simple crop challenge but, as far as I can see, I only have one confirmed participant.

So I am looking for some fun things. I have heard of scrapbook bingo but can't seem to find info on how to play, set up, etc. Can anyone explain it to me or point me in the right direction?

Also, if you know of any other fun activities I would love to hear them.

I am an independent consultant for MemoryWorks so I am using my crops to boost my visibility and sales and would be using their products as prizes (in limited quantities so I don't go broke).

There are currentyly two people who host bingo here. Scrapintlc and I don't know the other persons name.

Sounds like fun! I think I would probably just play like you normally play and whoever gets bingo gets a scrap prize, then maybe at the end do the whole "black out" game and make that a packet of things or something.

Or you could design bingo cards with scrap supplies... or have your guests prepare bingo cards before hand... and then everybody trades at the crop.

What about other word games? Or how about scrap memory? Like those old memory games. You'd have two cards featuring techniques/small pix of layouts/products and then flip the cards over... the guest with the most two-pair matches wins. You could even scan some of their layouts to use on the cards.

i am also a memory works consultant. i played bingo at my last crop and this is how i did it. make some bingo cards on the computer using scrap instead of bingo. leave the squares blank. give the guests all a catalog and set of cards (i gave them catalog, $5 certificate and 2 cards for $5...$.50 for each extra card) have them quickly browse the catalog and fill in their squares with their favorite products. then just start randomly calling out items. (generalizng is easier eg. Wild Asparagus page kits, rather than Wild Asparagus - birthday, cherish, thankful, etc.) for prizes, the edge distresser, Heidi Swapp jewels, sandpaper, Making Memories rub-ons and Heidi Swapp acrylic stamps are good prizes if you play alot of games. for larger prizes...the Chatterbox and Wild Asparagus kits are nice. you can play 3 games on 1 card. a row gets small prize, an X or T(t) gets medium pize and blackout gets big prize.
another type of bingo is to have them choose just from BasicGrey items or just from Chatterbox etc. they write down 8 items and then you pull from a bowl. first one to get all 8 items called, wins.
other ways to bring interest is giving them a raffle ticket for coming, one for bringing a friend, etc. and do a drawing.
you could also do a short class/workshop using the new class kits or a make-n-take.

I am also new to Memory works - I have my first overnight crop coming up and have been brainstorming games as well. Have any of you sold raffle tickets for prizes?

Thanks everyone for your help! I have received some great ideas. I am still looking for some suggestions for other games besides bingo if you would like to share.

Since this is going to be done at a relatively short crop (about 5 hours) I don't want to take up a lot of people's time. I just want to do something to get them excited and to lure them in to attend. I will have to think about doing a longer crop at some point if everyone is interested so I can do more fun stuff. I LOVE playing games.

You should be selling your products to get people interested in your crop. That is one of the reasons people come to crops because they know you have awesome stuff. Are you giving them a gift for coming? You should raffle off something from your catalogue. Give out tickets for different reasons.

When I will do a crop I will have an inventory of supplies and teach them the products I have. Everybody always runs out of adhesives so that is something good to have on hand. The know the Cheetah refills and the X refills is good to have on hand.

Also if you are a consultant you need to communicate with other consultants in your company to get ideas. especially on the forum where there should be a file for stuff like this. That's where I get all my ideas from
