dont use hairspray, its not acid free, hair spray only works on art pieces that you dont plan on protecting.. there is a spray, blair odor free fixative spray... and its acid free...

Back to making my Christmas Cards and Now I know I can use the chalks and they won't rub off after putting the fixative on it.
ANY chalk is going to rub off - it just sits on top of the paper or card stock - you will see the color faintly but the chalk will rub off and get on things. That is why I like to just spray lightly over it. I love chalks and use them on alot of projects!!
Krylon makes a few sprays: Preserve It!, Fixatif, Clear acrylic Coating, and a host of other brands make these fixatives as well. In the art dept of the BB stores (AC Moore, Michaels) or even Walmart might have some in the paint dept.
