Perfect Pearls

I am just getting into stamping along with my scrapbooking. I have the Jewels and metallic set. I have used them as they have instructed to on the back of package. I have even changed the look of small punches and die cuts with by putting the perfect medium on the paper and then using the perfect pearls. I really love the shimmer and I was just wondering if any of you have any other suggestions on how to use them.

You can mix them with reinker to make your own glimmer mist. I love it on chipboard and black cs!

I have never used glimmer mist. If I am right it is spray that comes in various colors that you can spray on your items to add to the look of it. Am I right?

you are correct. It's super easy to make your own. You just need a small spritzer (I use the mini misters), a water based ink, and perfect pearls. Add a couple of drops of reinker, a tiny amount of perfect pearls, and fill the mister with water. Instant spray. And simply by adding more or less reinker and mixing colors you have a full spectrum of sprays.

Another really cool way to use perfect pearls is with stamps and watermark/resist ink. Stamp your image and them take a small paint brush and cover the stamped image with perfect pearls. Brush any excess back into the pot. You will have a shimmery stamped image.

You can paint with perfect pearls also. On a non-stick craft sheet, place a tiny amount of perfect pearls and spritz with water 2-3 sprays from a mini-mister. Using a small paint brush, mix the two together. Then just use the mixture to highlight portions of patterned paper, stamped images, or whatever.

Personally, I prefer actual Glimmer Mist to making my own, just cause I don't have a bunch of reinkers.

I love using the PP with Versamark. I looks so pretty, it also looks fab on Grugeboard!

Also, you can add PP to embossing powder to add a shimmery color to clear, white and black powder!

I like to use my Perfect Pearls with the Bazzill templates for bling. I just put a pencil dot where the holes are and have a perfect template for the Pearls.

I use them(: They stick to anything wet so sometimes I brush them on my paper after inking the edges. I've stamped images and then brushed them on that. The other day I painted a paper key with the crackle paint and let dry, added some distress ink to fill in the cracks, then added the perfect pearls and it gave it a really cool antiqued metal look. Jennifer McGuire's blog has a ton of techniques for using Perfect Pearls as well as lots of other ranger products. Just google her and find the blog.

I have a number of the small misting bottles from Ranger/Holtz. I put in a few drops of ink (have used Ranger Distress inks (bottles with eye droppers, and dye inks in bottles on hand), a scant amount of Pearls (use a wooden popsicle stick from my burnisher supply and scoop the slightest amount) - drop that in. Fill the remainder of the bottle with water and instant shimmer/glimmer mist. It's very easy to mix ink drops to customize colors. I use the white Pearls most often, but the others are nice too, depending on the ink colors you are mixing.

thanks for this! I have some pp in blue and have only used it like a shimmery chalk to do a sky background on some of my stamped images. I am gonna have to play with them.. Thanks to the person who gave the blog info!

I use water colors in mine instead of ink from re-inkers (I don't have very many of those). I got a whole set of primary colors of water colors (in the tubes) at WM for 6 bucks. You can make just about any color you want by mixing them!

I have painted with them, I used the red on brown cardstock letters to change the look, It's awesome for something different.

I actually just mixed them with water in a mini mister and it works good too. give you just a mist of the glimmer with no base color

Just bought my first set of these on Saturday! Had lots of fun playing with them on Saturday night!
