Yeah that's mine. I never pay more than $60 when I go and it's always me AND Lizzie. We get washes, cuts, and styles. No color, no perm, no nothing. I don't want it and Lizzie is too young for it. And the stylist is a good friend of mine.

It would be for one person...but that's for TWO. Complete cuts, shampoos, and styles. I pay less than that if I'm just getting a trim. Usually I can get out of there for as little as $30 if both Lizzie and I are just getting trims without washes and styles. Most of the time we shower before we go and get in there before our hair dries.

So yeah while that would be high for one person it's not really when you take into consideration that I seldom go anywhere alone, including to the hair salon, and that price always includes a tip. Jory gets his hair buzz-cut at home by Jeremy, so Lizzie and I can enjoy a couple of hours of "girl time" at the salon getting our trims. Once in a while we'll come home and then I'll give us each an at-home manicure. We're both such girly-girls!

Hmmm...is it customary for you all to tip your hair stylist? We just don't seem to do that here?? At least, not at the places I go. I live in a relatively small town though and most of the time it is the owner that cuts my hair. Does that make a difference? I'm not cheap, it just doesn't seem to be done. The last hairstylist I went to charged me $8. That was for a cut only...she didn't wash b/c I just washed it a few hours before I came in. I may start giving her $10. The last lady who cut my hair (quit going there...it just seemed that I could no longer get the desired cut) charged either $12 or $15 for a wash & cut.

Yup Leah, here we tip our stylists.

My current stylist "fixed" my hair that my former stylist botched before Christmas. It was all choppy and I went looking for hair accessories. The girl serving me asked the stylist what could be done and he smoothed it out the best he could without cutting it all off - free of charge.

Good move on his part. I am going there now all because of his service.

I need to make my mom a birthday card this weekend. She will be 65 on Tuesday. I don't have an idea for it yet, will have to look through my favs.

I have always tipped my stylist and when I use someone I really like I give a $20 tip at Christmas in a card.
The lady I go to now charges mom and I $40 when we go together and that's for wash, cut and style.
Last time I had my hair colored 3 years ago the cut and color was about $80 and that was at the WM salon. It was gorgeous but I just can't afford the upkeep.

I will admit at the moment when I go get my hair cut it's from Brian's aunt who's a stylist. She won't let us pay or tip her. She usually takes us out to lunch too. She just loves the chance to see our kids.

I'm probably going to start having my sister do mine. She'll cut my hair for free and if I want it dyed she'll just charge me the cost of the dye.

I don't like to dye my own hair because I feel it looks flat and lifeless.

Desi I think it's because they do it in steps instead of it all being mixed in one bottle. I know you cn go to Sally's and get all the stuff to do it.

E with the CM Adhesive pen does the glue dry clear that seeps out or do I need to wipe it off?

Ooo cookies. I haven't made cookies in a while... maybe i'll do that Sunday.

Back from my CTMH friend's place. We had apple cake and a nice visit.

I had ordered a cute chipboard album and some French Christmas stamps - sayings.

She also gave me 10 small sheets of chipboard (sort of). A relative of a friend of hers had boxes of these - they were inside folded professionally laundered shirts that father/grandfather or someone had. So these stacks have been passed around to several scrapbookers.

No. I go lay down on the bed, and the next thing I know, it's an hour later. Of course, now that I've slept an hour, I'll be up half the night...just about right until Ethan's meds wear off and he wakes up needing attention.

Jenni had a very strong reminder today that, somewhere, God is standing there saying, "Chill out. I got this."

Kim woke me up this morning around 8:40, texting that Ethan had been up and down all night, was now up, and things had turned into a full-blown head cold. I called her. We were discussing how we were going to juggle kid-watching for the day. At 2-after-9 the house phone rang. (I was on my cell with her.) I hung up from talking to Kim to get the other call. It was the lady I was supposed to interview with - SHE was sick and wasn't at work today. Now she's going to call me again Monday morning to reschedule. (And since I'm working Sun/Mon/Tues nights and will be sleeping a good part of Wednesday, Thursday will be the next good day to do an interview -- either before or after the OTHER interview, which is already set for Thursday. So now they'll be on the same day, most likely.)

Fast forward through the day. We had Ethan. Kim met with the advisor about the paramedic program. Sounded enthusiastic about it. She really can't formally apply until she does a couple classes this spring and has her final grades for those, but the lady went ahead and gave her the materials anyhow.

I took Ethan out with me to run some errands. We had a decent time. Then Jim was finished watching TV with his buddy, so Ethan & I came home, I handed off to Jim, and he took Ethan to Target to see the H'ween decorations for awhile.

They came home. Ethan was feeling HORRIBLE by that point. Mentioned that his ear hurt. I thought, "Okay, we'll give him Tylenol tonight, see how it is in the morning." But then he started crying really hard with it hurting.

(This is where the obvious part comes in......)

We took him to the after-hours clinic for our pediatric group. This was about 6:30. We'd tried to call, but only got a busy signal. But Kim was sure she'd heard that the clinic was open until 7:30. So we got there. Um...yeah...open until 7:30, but only for call-in appointments, and they were booked solid. I told the lady we'd TRIED to call, but the line was busy. She said, "Let me see if our on-call dr has any openings, but I don't think so." (seconds pass while she looks at the schedule) "Actually, he has one opening...in 10 minutes."

"We'll take it."

In total, we were in and out in an hour. I've been in a dr's office longer than that sometimes when I've HAD an appointment! And yes, his ear was infected. So we've got him on The Pink Stuff and he should be doing quite a bit better by morning.

And somehow, when she said, "one appointment, in 10 minutes," I heard her say, "Relax. God's taking care of you. You just have to let Him."

Done catching up for the night, I think. Gonna go find something to do. Maybe watch some TV and crochet.

I'm here all alone.
I have the invites almost done, need to wait a few minutes for the letter I just put on to dry and then just one more letter to glue down. I will then need to use stickles for the apostrophe and maybe add a few petaloo flowers.

Still haven't found a card design I want to use for mom's card. Will have to look some more tomorrow.

It's a beautiful reminder And for Ethan, and the interviews Oh, and yes, we have difficulties with English because of the order of our sentences (and wanting to translate literally) (sp?), but mostly because of the verbs. No offense taken, and thanks for helping her.:)

Joy, me too, I always have a hard time finding card sketches. I think that because they are so small I can picture ideas. Dunno.
