Hidden journaling will make looking at it later easier. Still hard to do up front but the emotions/stories aren't right on the surface on the layout and are a bit easier this way, too. At least for me it is.

i just stacked up all the pictures from my order, it measures 4 3/4 inches high. Plus at least an inch and a half of that is multiple images on one 4x6 sheet.

Liz!!! That's a lot of pictures!!! I print mine out at home on a LO by LO basis. I'll probably just order prints online though for Tinkerbrat's wedding album.

I have some people who are like this. I work with them for a charity. One of them was touting the benefits of joining this "travel group" (actually, a pyramid scheme thingy) so you could get really great rates on vacations. Only $800 for two weeks in Australia! Only $350 for a week-long cruise to the Bahamas!

I countered with "$350 pays tuition for one college class for my daughter!" (Not to mention there's no way on earth I could be gone for a full week at this point in time.)

No. They don't get it. *Sigh*

BTW...DD just called as she's getting off work. New GoI has her phone number...... <climbing back in the roller coaster car>

DD is on the way home. DGS is still napping.

When he wakes up, we'll head out. I want to get some new pp for my BOM (40% coupon at HL). Need to get to Card Factory Outlet to see if they have John Deere-themed bday decor. (If not, we're probably going to be ordering some that's specifically geared to a 1st birthday.) DD has a month's worth of paychecks to deposit. (If she can hold on to checks for four weeks, she doesn't NEEEEEEEEED to be working like she thinks she does.) And since none of us will have had lunch yet, that'll probably be first on the list.

Friends are coming over tonight, so I'll be here once they leave and the baby's in bed.

Hopping in shower now. I spent morning cleaning (well since I've been home, anyway), more still needs to be done, but I need a shower before crop night, there is still dinner that needs to be made and it's close to when Abby gets home from school. Back later.

I actually get disheartened by all the one-pic LOs I see because I just don't have that much *oomph* in my creativity barrel to fill a page if there's only one picture. For me, it is not about scrapping the pictures, it is about scrapping the story. A lot of my LOs only have one picture(mostly because I choose the picture that best expresses the story I want to tell) and I don't feel it is wasteful at all. I put the pictures that I don't put on a LO in a regular photo album with all the proper "who, what, when, where, why". All of the LOs in my gallery have journaling, some things are just written on the back of the page or I uploaded before I wrote the journaling on there.

I call what I do scrapbooking, but it is actually just a journal with pictures.

No, I do not cringe while reading anyone's posts here, because this is "casual" writing. A lot of us write like we talk (at least, I know I do), and I think that gives us a better sense of what we'd sound like in person. I'm talking about school-assignment writing.

As for DD...my first suggestion (and one I offered many times, usually met with rolling eyeballs) was "open a dictionary!" Do not use dictionary.com, but crack open a real, live, pages-of-paper dictionary. I have a great collegiate dictionary here on the computer desk, left over from my college days.

But this would be more like what would I have them write about? How would I get them writing? And about the only "tip" I can come up with is "have them write about things they are passionate about." But does that count as a "tip"?

I would suggest having them keep a small notebook to jot down ideas, thoughts, etc...so when they do sit down to write, they aren't staring at a blank page.

I even have my 1st graders keep a list of ideas in their journals. (I usually prompt and provide most of the ideas, but they catch on quickly.)

Just to let you ladies know, I probably won't be on much after this afternoon. DH is coming home today after being gone for 52 days so I want to spend a lot of time with him and the kids as a family.

What do you mean by ultra tired? I have been feeling extremely fatigued lately even when I do get sleep. It is like all of my wind has been knocked out of me and it takes a lot of effort just to walk around. I feel lightheaded all the time. I have talked to my PCP about this multiple times, but she just said "Of course you are tired, you have two toddlers. Being tired is my most common complaint". I have this feeling that it might be more. I am 21 and there is no reason I should be so utterly exhausted all the time.

I know that Shirley's may be much more but iron deficiency can cause tiredness. If your hands and feet stay cold, low iron could be the cause.

That's something else I need to get back on. With all the traveling and stuff this month, I've not taken my supplements like I should, my O-3, iron, L-glutamine, Super-B, and some other amino acids.

Also a B12 deficiencey will make you tired.

Everytime a reporter interviews me as an event observer/participant, my answers never make the story. It's like I'm always the bridesmaid, never the bride.

Couldn't help but think of that car insurance commercial where the squirrel deliberately causes a car to go off the road and then high fives or whatever with another squirrel while tittering/laughing. Evil furry tailed rodent!

I could have been active with her old unit/my new
unit all along. I just felt a little shy, so I didn't do anything. But now that I belong to it, it's different. I know that sounds weird, but it's how I'm feeling.

Considering how many LOs here have only one photo per page, two pics per LO may be quite a challenge for someone. I actually get disheartened by all the one-pic LOs I see because I just don't have that much *oomph* in my creativity barrel to fill a page if there's only one picture. For me, it is not about scrapping the pictures, it is about scrapping the story. A lot of my LOs only have one picture(mostly because I choose the picture that best expresses the story I want to tell) and I don't feel it is wasteful at all. I put the pictures that I don't put on a LO in a regular photo album with all the proper "who, what, when, where, why". All of the LOs in my gallery have journaling, some things are just written on the back of the page or I uploaded before I wrote the journaling on there.

I call what I do scrapbooking, but it is actually just a journal with pictures.

There in lies the style differences. I tell the story through the pix, hence more pix. You tell through words with the pix as support. Both are correct. My point was when did multiple pix on a layout mean two?
