I had previously (about 3 months ago) offered to 2 different friends of mine to watch their babies (we are having a baby boom!!!!) and both of them thought it would be better to put them in daycare...WTH?!?! So no extra money that way...and I was really hoping to watch them. Anyway, there's this other friend, yesterday he stopped by with baby to visit and mentioned that he was wanting to work at some other job and didn't want to put baby in daycare. I said I would watch her if they wanted. I didn't really think I would hear about it again, but he called today and I'm gonna watch her!!! YAY!!
It will be a big adjustment at first b/c Ethan is soooooo jealous and sooooo all about mommy, but he'll get used to it...eventually!

That's great! You're on your way. Add another child or two and you'll have a really decent income PLUS be able to be homw with your child!!

Okay. Not to throw a damper on this party, but just a word of warning.

Be absolutely sure you have the time and, more importantly, the patience for this. Twice I've babysat one baby while I had one at home. (Once with DD, and once last spring with DGS.) Maybe your Ethan is older and able to help and understand better - in that case, you should be fine. But both times I did it, I was SO happy for my time commitment to be over. As long as the kids were on staggered schedules - one up and playing/eating while the other napped - I had no problem. But on the days when they'd both be hungry at the same time, or both be tired and crying at the same time...I just wanted to curl up in the fetal position and cry myself.

So just be sure you know what you're getting into.

I did home daycare so that I could stay home with my DD. I loved it. I think it works best if you are very professional and businesslike about it.

I had a job interview today. I am woefully behind on reading strategy, discipline and classroom management buzz words. Think I will have more luck if I go back to school for a master's in early childhood.

Heaven, I'm in heaven... In under five minutes, Lightroom loaded 4.02 gb/294 picture files, let me browse through them AND correct some of them. Before I upgraded the memory, it would gotten picture 6 loaded by this time, maybe, if I was very lucky.

Right as the question popped out, I remembered that for a heart catheterization, the tube actually goes in through the vein in your groin. They all had a good laugh at my expense.

I had that done when I was 19.

Right as the question popped out, I remembered that for a heart catheterization, the tube actually goes in through the vein in your groin. They all had a good laugh at my expense.

I had that done when I was 19.

That must've been unpleasant.

Awesome, Liz! I still need to send my Lappy in. Box is here, waiting for her to get into, but I don't want to give her up! Afterall, we've been together 3 years!

I noticed the other day that they broke her case too, right by the space bar. Probably when they put in the bogus motherboard. Which, of course, they say they didn't do.

Oh...Good morning everyone! I was up about 7, catching up here.
Have one of those "sleep hangovers" from sleeping too much. Coffee is helping. If the second cup doesn't take it away, I'll take something.

The one with the extra scenery in the distance looks like a postcard, so beautiful! She should put "Visit New Mexico" across the bottom. I love scenery shots.
