Came home and tried to do some work from home rather than wasting time (and gas) driving back to the office and putting in less work time.l But ds#2 had massive homework assignment in reducing fractions!! This is the ASD/MR son..... he still needs to do touch math for addition, can't do simply subtraction or amy math with...

I had to chain the dog in the backyard cause she was such a scooch we couldn't even think!

I've had a serious conversation with dh about this after he got home tonight. I think he sees it too. That we may not be the best family to have this dog. Her hyper activity and nned for constant attention/supervision is beyond what we can offer her. Our schedules are beyond full and very chaotic.

He needs to move on the search for obedience training and see what that brings for us.

We are both sad to think that we may not be able to keep Pepper. But we are not ready to make that decision yet. Need to see what we can do to help her live with our family.

Me, too! And seeing the banner ad for the new BLING section in the superstore helped a lot, too. Had a horrid day off. But got banana bread in the oven making the house smell all yummy, and got pizza dough rising on the counter.

Jory's still throwing his fit because he lost a lens to his glasses and can't find it. He refuses to look properly FOR it. I told him that if he'd clean his room, he could find the lens and kill two birds with one stone. Mr. Jory is grounded until he can start doing what he's supposed to when he's supposed to (i.e. asked to) without giving us drama over it. He didn't do anything he was asked to yesterday, and Jeremy was furious. But not as furious as I was to come home from work and find nothing had gotten done.

Thanks, Cathy. Jeremy and I are refusing to pay for a new pair of glasses. If he needed a new prescription, that'd be one thing. But because he lost a lens and can't find it, I refuse to buy him a new pair of glasses. He sat on the floor last night, did half-@$$ed swipes around his floor and whined, "I can't fiiiiind it!" I didn't mess up his room, nor did Jeremy, so we are not helping him look for it. If he'd keep his room cleaner he wouldn't have this problem.

I am looking at going into occupational therapy. I asked my mom to talk to her friend that is an OT and find out if she is going to be working in the clinic at all this summer. Her friend works at her school and then at a clinic in the evenings some for extra money. With still not having a job, I thought I could at least shadow her if she is working some. The app for grad school requires 20 hours of shadowing an OT and a reference from an OT.

When my mom mentioned that to her, she told my mom about another position they have at the clinic. It involves essentially crafts for therapy. It sounds like they don't require a degree for it and they pay less than an actual therapist, but they do pay ok. With all my craft experience, my degree in psychology and recreation (plus specific recreation therapy classes), and experience working in a special ed class... I hopefully would be an ideal canidate.

It sounds great to me on many levels too. It has a flexible schedule so I could still work on my masters, it would be around OT's so that looks good for my application to grad school, it would also provide me with connections to a place that hires OTs, AND...I would be working with CRAFTS!

Right now it sounds too good to be true. I am trying to not get my hopes up and I have to find out more, but .... *happy sigh* it sounds...wonderful...

Wow, it is a slow night. I've been in the building arranging things and packing for tomorrow's crop.

Made just an off hand comment to dh about ants in the building, I had just gotten bitten, and he just went right out and sprayed around the building. Made me feel so loved. Really, it did. I'm not hard to please, really, I'm not.

I figured out what I'm going to get John for Father's day. He's getting a couple of fast food gift cards, some ones and quarters, a Barnes and Noble g/c and an iPod shuffle preloaded with a bunch of songs that I've picked because they're either important to us or they remind me of him, or in some rare cases, I know he likes them I also need to dig out my microphone and make some .wav files of Abby talking to him and throw those on there as well. This is all stuff he can take to texas with him at the end of the month: the fast food cards he can use for meals, the bookstore card he can use before he goes to get airplane/airport rreading material and I'd much rather spend $50 on a shuffle and make him iTunes playlists than get him a portable CD player and make a bunch of mix CDs that I doubt he'll bring with him anyway. I just need to get Abby on board with the gift and I'm good to go!

Brian is getting a t-shirt (He loves getting them) and his camera is a special father's day/ anniversary gift. I also plan to do something a little extra special since this is the first year without his dad but I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.

The build a flower is very cute too.. you can build a dragonfly from it... or layer them and make different styles of flowers!

Ready for this? know how everyone said my grandma is losing it? Well the other day she said something about Father's day being this coming Sunday. I didn't think anything about it at the time. Until this afternoon when I was at work and all of a sudden I realized it was Friday and Father's day was Sunday and I freaked out and ran around to stores looking for something I know Bill wants.
I got home a little late, but he was mad becaus he came home early. Half way home I started wondering why his son had't called me to arrange what to do Sunday...when suddwnly it dawned on me...Father's Day is next weekend!!!!!!!!1

I said something about it at the nursing home tonight. Grandma looked at me and said "OMG...it's my fault. I put that in your head!"

I use a plastic masher, never heard my potatoes laughing. I have used my hand mixer but i don't like the consistency of the potatoes with that. Did you know that if you leave the peels on that it is better for you?

Jeremy didn't get me anything for Mother's Day, but he DID referee the kids so I could scrap peacefully. Mother's Day falls a week after NSBD, and I'm usually still in a scrappy-kinda mood from the festivities. I'm thinking of making him a special dinner the night before. (I work on Sundays.) I would also like to find a good card idea for him. Maybe try and come up with a football card or one with tools on it or something. I don't know...

All y'all who use a plastic masher must have a stronger one than mine. I swear I can hear the other utensils laughing at it in the drawer. Very much like when we are looking for our cat and she hides under the bed and laughs at us.

I had to look at the calendar. Father's Day is the 15th. I was pretty worried. I planned a seafood dinner tomorrow, and if Father's Day was in fact THIS Sunday, I would've tried to get a half-pound or so of Jeremy's favorite king crab legs to go with it. Just for him.

Bill went with me tonight. She was watching the ball game on TV. She stopped and talked to us. Bill agreed she was as lucid as she's ever been. When she asks me for something from her apartment, she can tell me exactly where it is. not just what room, or what dresser, or even what drawer...but the yellow pajamas are under the teal pagamas that were under the blue ones I just brought her.
Her mouthwash is under the bathroom sink, on the left, right in front. It's blue, peppermint...and OH, be careful when I pick it up because the cap is loose because she has trouble with it.

I've been listening to an audio book while I've been working in the building. I had paused it while I came into the hose for more stuff. Dh flipped it to the radio, didn't notice the blinked paused light, didn't notice the track number.

I think so. I think my mom and my aunt were making her nuts. I think she's doing great. Now if I can just get the staff at the nursing home to realize that. She might need more supervised living than she has had, maybe someone to check in on her once or twice a day, but I certainly don't think she needs to be in a nursing home. I think that WILL kill her.
