I have a feeling that I am going to have a granddaughter that is going to need some distractions and some extra attention very soon. And the soccer stuff was at least on sale.

12 year old was not dealing well last night with potential loss of her great-grandmother...not that anyone is...but she's pretty emotional and one of those girls that just takes everything to heart...kwim?

It's going to be one of those days. Boss is giving me a hard time cause I made some mistakes on the bulk invoicing. Well that is why he goes over it before we bill it right? He's such a dork sometimes.

I'm taking a break from cleaning the house. There's just little junky clutter everywhere right now. My student shows up in two hours, so I need to get it finished.

Before I was laid off, I was in an R&D group filled with workaholic PhDs. A lot of them, well, their wives either do not work or they work but don't have kids. During lunch time, a lot of discussions made me and this other friend's blood boil. Some of the stuff they said are "I don't know why women should have maternity leaves.. isn't it THEIR choice to have kids? Why should they get time off for that. I don't get 6 weeks off for hiking."

Long story short, I was treated in a mean way during my pregnancy by my co-workers, and was laid off shortly after I return from my 'disability' leave. One of the guys who missed me had a knee injury which caused him to take some medical leave for his surgeries told me people were being mean to him too.

With the current company, my former boss was very sympathetic and placed a lot of value in family. But some of my co-workers weren't. The older gentlemen had an issue with women working after having kids. AND I got asked about when I would have the baby ALL the time so they can 'plan the projects'. Anyway, when my MIL can't extend her visa to stay here helping us, and I was having so much trouble pumping for DS, I decided to quit. My ex-boss let me work from home 25% (10 hrs a week). That sparked a LOT of jealousy amongst my co-workers too.

Unfortunately, my new GM did not agree with my ex-boss. Recently, my ex-boss was fired and I was promptly 'transferred' to another dept due to my part time status (50% now.. and I go to the office twice a week for 2 full days). The new dept treats me well, and my team co-workers are great because they all have kids and they are single parents. So they understand.

It makes a difference.

I set up my twitter account this morning and I just finished setting up my bluetooth headset for my phone. Didn't want one, hate headsets altogether, but John a) insisted b) had a spare since he lost his, ordered a new one on eBay and then found his. It's ok, but it feels like it wants to fall out of my ear no matter how I bend the earpiece. I'll probably like it better when I'm on my business trip and need to look all business traveller with my briefcase and headset and frequent flyer miles!

Didn't read the manual. Looked at the picture to find the on button, told my phone to add it to the phone app list, stuck it on my ear and called John. Made sure it worked so he'd feel good about his purchase. It's now off and about to be stuck in my drawer of technology until I need it.

I'm totally happy with my Moto V???? that's from like 3 years ago! Any phone that still works after I drop it a gazillion times is a good phone for me!

But being in the biz, DH buys me nice phones all the time (he used to get good discounts when his company was still Moto) ... I had to stop him. Told him to just give me cash! He bought me some RAM intead. That's my guy!

If I have a PC, I'm sure I"ll get an upgrade board or sth.. I have a Mac so he gets me external HD as presents!

So my dad is trying to explain what to do via phone. However, he has to call me back so I am sitting here waiting to hear back and then go to buy chlorine. Woohoo...

Shirley, I totally understand. I had my old Nokia for 3 or 4 years. The only reason I replaced it was because I was switching providers and couldn't use it on with Verizon (too old, didn't have the GPS thingie that the feds want in case you get lost and they need to find you via phone, wasn't compatible with the V-network, etc). The only reason I stopped using my old LG was because I washed John's phone and his needed to be replaced. Since I get a new phone every two years when I renew my contract and John could only get a new phone if we had a new contract, it was just easier for us both to get new phones. If his hadn't been waterlogged, then I would still be using my old LG.

*totally avoids getting in to phone craze...really...I have a phone and it works AND hey it takes photos so I am happy... * I really just try to not read or learn about phones essentially ...and a lot of technology. Is that awful? It helps the budget...that is for sure.

2. All I wanted was to call people and send the occaisional text. I have used the video and still cameras in my phone, but I would rather carry dedicated equipment than have an all in one device. I was almost laughed out of the store when we went to upgrade because I wanted a phone for basic communication purposes only. They stopped laughing when they realized that I pay the bill and they needed to suck up to me to get me to spend more.

Hey, um...so eventually I hope to get a cb myself and perhaps we can use each others dies.

I am thinking for the next holiday I will tell family members they can get me embossing folders. A whole stack...since I have none, they can't go wrong.

I really want a few of the sizzix dies that I think I will use over and over just because they cut chipboard, felt, and fabric. I would rather have a sil or something for most die cuts, but I want a few of those for stuff like that.

I REALLY want this one because my nicname for my bro forever has been "monkey". When he has kids I have already said the kid is getting tons of monkey stuff. They have a demo here at sb.com that shows how you can use this die to add stuff to little onesies...so of course I am envisioning decorating baby clothes for a neice or nephew some day with it. (oh and I know it is not XL...just saying I have uses for sizzix too...)

Uh-oh, Vivian ... I just googled it and found the answer!

The Sizzix XL die WILL fit in the Cuttlebug. However, the cutting pads do not! However, Sizzix says as a courtesy to its customers, they will modify the cutting pad to fit in the CB.. so if we call them, they can send us one?

Ria.. now you CAN get the XL die if you want to OH no.. did I just enable? Better not!

Yay me...2 days of attempting to keep the dog out of the pool after I shock it. This means each time he goes potty I have to take him out on a leash because he won't obey me and stay out of the pool. Ugg, he stinks something awful from the pool too. He kind of like mildews or something. I need to stop and get some Dawn dish detergent to bathe him later too. That is gonna be fun...bathing him while holding a leash so he doesn't head for the pool.

Hi everyone! I'm going to order some stickles tomorrow. I get paid and I will have a little leftover. I can't get all 35 at once so I'm just going to get a few. If I like them then I can order some more on my next paycheck.

Susan, they're addicting. But recently they've made some that are a pain to squeeze out. Hopefully you won't get any of those.

I can't wait to try them. Yeah, I hope I don't get the hard to squeeze bottles either.
