I have now tied up my internet connection: I have 30 attachment laden emails waiting to be sent. The first 8 are going through right now. When those are done, I'll send a few more.

Yes this song is from their newest album. Right now on Christian radio their song, "It's How You Live" is one of my faves. I have loved their music since I started listening to CCM. I like Casting Crowns also.

Question for those good with computers?

I am trying to fill out an app that is a PDF document. Normally, I can type in them and then print. I would like to do that because it would be neater and I might end up filling out 10 apps other wise. I tend to write out a new one if I make any mistake.

This one however is not working that way. When I click on the PDF it puts a cursor in the spot I need it, I hit a letter key and it jumps to the bottom of the page. Not what I want it to do. Any suggestions? They say on the app "plese print or type" so I would presume typing must be an option...

I also tried copy pasting it into a word document, but it looked nothing like the original PDF so I don't feel that is usable.

"Forward Motion" by Relient K is really good.

Sorry, I never messed with using PDFs that way.

My DCVW Grade School, High School and The Alphabet stacks came today. Brian's camera also came today. I'm so excited and he loved his camera.

See...that is another thing that confuses me. Most classes will tell you that email is unprofessional, don't email. However, I have gotten jobs via email. One job (which oddly is a very hard to get job) I actually never met the person in person. It was all email contact before she hired me.

Emailing apps depends on the job, too or the person doing the hiring. It would be much easier for me to get an emailing than shuffling through papers. I think it's best to cover as many bases as possible.

Now I am contemplating emailing it... I don't know how to email this daggumed PDF though. I can print it out, write on it, and fax it though... I am hoping to figure out typing on it, but still not sure how I would email it to them since it is being a pain in the behind. If it was a word document, I would email...

Okay...I'm back from lunch!

Went & dumped my trash during lunch. Boy is it HOT outside!

I bet that PDF is one you have to print out and fill in by hand print or type. Too bad they did not make it a PDF that allows you to fill it out. Would have simplified things for you.

That is what it seems like. It is ticking me off. Grrr.... it is for a clerical position so I would like it to look like I know what I am doing with computers.

For the most part I do, and I am very very good at learning what parts I don't know quickly in order to do well at the job. Just is bugging me!

Ok, for the moment I am printing the app out to fax later. Giving up on typing it until further notice.

HOWEVER, QUESTION... the app wants my social security number. I don't like the idea of faxing something with my social to a random office that I don't know who gets it? Is that bad? Should I feel it is ok since it is going to HR?

I left the computer on because I had 30 emails queued up to go out and it was slow going with the attachments. I came home to find that for some reason, my computer rebooted itself and I lost 22 of those emails.

I'm so done.

No way really around this. SSNs are required by employers to verify so many things and to pay taxes into as well. I would never put it in a Resume but don't think twice for an app.

Ok, my mom got a hold of the IT person from her work. That individual told my mom that there is away to get around it and type on Adobe, but the full adobe software that costs around $400 would be needed. However, they also have this software at the distict office and the person she spoke with is there at the office. So...mom has to go in tomorrow anyway to pack up some stuff (she is going to be doing a different position next year and has to pack up her classroom). I volunteered to assist in packing the room in exchange for a ride there and assistance with the app. Going to fill out the app by hand so I have all my info and then go there to do it.

The app has such tiny boxes. I hate to fill it out by hand. None of my info fits in it right and it looks like a mess. So I think this is my best option.

I just signed up for net flix today! I had something I wanted to watch for a class and it sounded like a good idea.

Joining NetFlix has saved me money from buying DVDs. I'm on their $18 plan. Plus love the unlimited online viewing. Watched the entire series of "Red Dwarf," "Sliders" and "Forever Knight." I'm normally really quick with watching and returning them. So I'll get 6-9 DVDs a week.

Something about them playing in the background will keep me anchored in a room and better focused on whatever I'm doing, from cleaning to cooking to organizing to crafting.

Rio--good luck with the app! My personal opinion on the social...I wouldn't fax it!! You can always give it to them later! I am very hesitant to transmit my social via email, fax or anything like that. You can always give that to them if you get further into the process of being hired!

I honestly should have signed up for it months ago. When I get bored, I tend to spend in ways I shouldn't. Especially this winter in Flag, it would have been good to have it. I think it will be nice to have now. I have never been a big movie person, but I do enjoy them and this might make it work better for me.
