Great shot. It looks like a female ruby throated hummingbird. We have tons of hummies. Mom's back porch is like sitting at an airport, she had over 30 one night at her 4 feeders.

If you blow him up (excuse me, I mean the photo by clicking on it, I don't recommend blowing up birds, HONEST) he is easy to spot. I have still NOT gotten one and I had a hummer right by my head last week end, but I had the macro lens on the camera and it just didn't work.

Oh, what fun! I spotted him (green-ish back?) without having to enlarge the pic (go, me!). The flowers are lovely -- we have butterflies all over right now, but my lilacs are still a couple weeks from blooming, so I don't know what they're feeding on in my area... Great take on the challenge!
