One of our favorite places to walk was right at the end of our street when we lived in Fairfax Village. There was a path that led into the woods, past the old Fairfax Plantation (just the outline of the foundations now) and out onto the ridge overloking the Potomac River. We only went walking there a few times a year, but every time we went we had a really good time. The boys loved to explore and hang out on the rope keeping them from fralling down the bank into the river. On this beautiful fall day we saw sailboats on the Potomac and a group of eagles feeding. Theyd fly in big circles, then dive towards the water. The boys & I posed for the middle picture, but their individual pictures were spontaneous.
