Journaling: In May, Don and I went to Montreal over the Memorial Day weekend. Don had two tickets on USAir from having been bumped on some flights, so we decided to use them to go as far as we could. We’d never been to Montreal, so it was the logical choice. We enjoyed seeing the city, riding the subway, and visiting the Botanical Gardens. I couldn’t take enough pictures of the beautiful tulips which were in bloom everywhere. Karen turned 31 in June, and we had dinner at Antonio’s to celebrate. Later that month, we had family pictures made at a local park to mark Mama’s upcoming 75th birthday.
Jimmy married Tatiana on July 4 at his home in Ocala. We made two trips to NC during the summer and on our second trip bought a lot on Alpine Mountain in Little Switzerland with a view toward building a vacation home. In September, Don spent a week in NC doing site work, clearing trees and putting in a septic tank. Mama turned 75 on October 18, and we had a big party at our house to celebrate. Matthew celebrated his 25th birthday in November. When FSU beat UF after Thanksgiving, I managed to get a picture with the Glitter Guys. We excitedly awaited the birth of our first grandchild in 2003.
