Give a Cheer
Sometimes my dh and I get a little crazy. This was one of those occasions. We were living in Denver, CO at the time but decided that it would really be fun to return to Fairbanks, AK for a long weekend to attend the annual St Patrick's Day party at my former employer's. Of course it is still kinda cold way up there in Fairbanks, in fact it was -17 when we landed at the airport at 2 am. But by Fairbanks standards, that is not really all that cold! We lived in Fairbanks for 5 1/2 years and loved it! Every year an ice carving contest is held and carvers come from all over the world to compete. This photo is a memorial ice carving of Susan Butcher, famed Iditarod musher who died the previous year from lukemia.
