My interpretation of sketch #246 at Nuts About Sketches.

I LOVED working with Shawn's sketch, but I'm not particularly crazy about the project. Maybe it's maybe it's just because I wasn't feeling well when I did it, but I was having a really hard time thinking creatively, and I think I just overwhelmed it with too much busy and not enough basic bone structure.

I was TRYING to incorporate the whole feeling of these old caddies shoved nose first into the desert hard pan and then covered with graffiti by a gazillion taggers. The papers were the right color and they really let the photos shine, but in spite of my throwing just about everything in the closet at it - stamping and pasting and misting and embossing and metal elements and fringe - it just doesn't feel done. Or right. Or something.

But at least I had fun and got some stuff out of my stash pile. I think I'll let it just marinate here in my gallery for a while and revisit it at some future date - maybe for a Do-Overs Challenge project. Meanwhile, I think I'll turn it into the hoarders challenge. Those papers have been in my stash at LEAST a couple of years.
