This is my lo for the JULY Monthly Sketch Challenge, Sketch #2, which can be found here

I was so thrilled when I found I had this old piece of fishing themed pp, because it went along with the borders on the sketch. I decided to mat trim it down a little, because it had a lot of 'extra' white. I distressed the edges and then matted it on some plaid pp. I triple matted my pics to add a little bit of brighter color and make it seem a little 'younger' since the pics are of my young sons. I inked the edges of each layer with brown ink. I cut a piece of brown pp the same size as the pics and triple matted it the same for my title block. I added mini brads to the corners of each square and wrapped a twine border around the title block. I used stickers from 4 sets of pond/fishing themed stickers on this page...on the title block and the phrases on the pics. I created my title sign from the green fish sticker for the pole and a sign from another set. I added micro brads to the sign. I added the cattail and butterfly sticker for a little more nature. LOL I stamped the boys' names on strips of cs and inked the edges and adhered them to the 'pole' with more micro brads. I freehand cut the circle, inked the edges and adhered it with foam squares (cut into small strips) to lift it off the page and allow it to sit freely above the twine. I added the fishing location at the bottom of the title square with brown alpha stickers to 'ground' the title block ....it didn't look quite right without something there. I took advantage of the element the sketch had on the corner of the tilted pic and I used a piece of fishing tackle and a tag to add the date.
