This is a pic (from many years ago) of my son in his Halloween costume. I few weeks ago, I was scrapping some of these old pics and scrapped pics of my 2 sons in their Halloween costumes. I told dh that Rhys in his Batman costume kept making me think of the Batman saying that's all over Pinterest. Dh suggested that I crop the pics so just Rhys was in them and scrap his pics with that saying. Fortunately, I had a pic of just Rhys in his costume, so I used that as the main pic and then a cropped pic as the smaller pic.

I used Sketch #1 of the MONTHLY SKETCH CHALLENGE - NOVEMBER for the inspiration for this lo.

I started with the multi orange background pp (from a pad I bought at WM). I inked the edges, but didn't think it was quite enough, so I took a sheet of rub-ons (kind of a newsprint look) and tore small strips and added the rubons to the edges of the background pp. I decided I didn't really want the words to be the focus, because they had nothing to do with the pic LOL so I turned the page upside down...I figured it would work since Halloween is a quirky holiday. ;)

I tore the brick pp, inked the edges with orange ink, then with a touch of black. It still didn't really have the 'depth' I was wanting, so I found some vellum and tore it slightly larger than the brick pp, inked the edges and layered it behind the brick pp...once again, upside down, because the vellum had words I didn't really want to be the focus.

I sanded the edges of the pics a little, because I really didn't want to do a matting, but they didn't stand out as much as I wanted from the background. I cut out part of a sticker (the moon and bats) and added that behind the pics. I decided to add the Batman saying right to the pics, except for the part that I wanted to be the title. The lamp post is a rub-on and I layered several other vine rub-ons with it to give it more of a Halloween look. I foleded a flower in half and added it to bottom of the pic, folded another flower and layered it on top, using a leaf brad to hold it all in place. I tucked a couple of pieces of word ribbon into the flower.

I sanded a couple of bat stickers and added them to the top, added the banner sticker under the title, then stamped the journaling info in the bottom corner.
