Sunday, April 21st – It was nice to be in Civitavecchia, Italy again but very sad to be saying good-bye to our friend, Jan Beckmann even though we know we will cruise with her again.
This morning we left the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas and boarded the shuttle to the gate. Then we boarded the shuttle for the Holland American Noordam to begin our next adventure to other ports in Italy, Egypt, the Greek Islands and ending in Istanbul.
The Navigator was a beautiful ship – so big and modern but the Noordam really made us say WOW! Even though it is an older, smaller ship it was so much more elegant. Holland America moved to number one as our favorite cruise line in 2011 and this ship guarantees that Holland America will remain number one!
After settling in our cabin we still had part of the day left before we were scheduled to sail so we left the ship to see parts of Civitavecchia we missed when we were there in 2009. We really liked the “Unconditional Surrender” statue and Bill posed for his picture. The statue was so big Bill was barely taller than the woman's high heel shoe!
Back on the ship for dinner in the buffet (we love that most of the same food is in the buffet that is served in the main dining rooms!) and then to the theater for the “welcome aboard” show.

Thanks for spreading positivity!
