I was inspired by GG's challenge “The retro revival.” I guess I'm fairly new to scrapbooking. I found out that this hobby existed in late 2011 when I was working on an anniversary scrapbook for my parent's 50th anniversary. As I was searching the internet for papers and albums, this world of scrapbooking (and all its wonderful supplies) caught me. My first orders was to a danish company, and they had some older papers from 2008 that I bought. When I looked at this photo of my dog Honey and me, and noticed the blue and yellow/lime pattern of the pillow, I came to think of one of my older papers from Basic Grey, the Lime Rickey line from 2008. It's the paper with the yellow pattern, and also the dark blue scalloped pattern. Then I remembered that Fancy Pants had a similar scalloped pattern from this summers collection, Down by the Shore, so I pulled that in. I used the woodgrain from Simple Stories to ground the photo and pull in some brown (autumn), and then used the new blue paper with stars from Studio Callico. My titel is a card from Pebbles phrase cards: Family. I loved this challenge to mix new and old, and will challenge myself to that more, as I do have a lot of “older” stash - even though I haven't scrapbooked that long. Thanks for looking.
