The adventures of Flat Carol began one fine day in June of the year 2004. Carol’s friend Pat Bartko was getting ready to move to Brussels to join her husband Paul. While Pat was telling her friend, Carol, about the places they planned on visiting while living in Europe, Carol was somewhat envious. Pat then asked Carol if her had heard of Flat Stanley? Carol had actually had the opportunity to have Flat Stanley visit her a few years ago. Flat Stanley was/is a guy (?) Who was mailed all over the world, usually by interested grade school kids, to learn more about the places he went. To make a long story short, Pat suggested having Carol make a ‘Flat Carol’ and Pat and Paul (and other’s of the Bartko family) would take Flat Carol with them on their travels and take pictures of interesting places with Flat Carol in the pictures. And so, Flat Carol was born with a digital camera and a photo printer - and soon off to experience great adventures through pictures with Pat and Paul!
