We passed a little cleared spot where it looked like some kind of ceremonies might be held so Bill asked about it. She (our guide) said it was the wedding place where everyone on the island was married. I asked if we could go back to see it and take pictures so she turned around and we went back. She seemed very surprised that tourists would want to see it none of the other tourists had ever asked about it so she had never taken tourists there. We asked what kind of wedding ceremonies and she said they were all traditional Catholic wedding ceremonies but there was obviously a lot island influence.

The first thing we saw at the wedding place was a tiki of a woman (this is what got our attention when we passed by) we could tell she was a woman because she had long Spanish moss for hair. We asked where the groom statue was and she said it was near the Catholic church.
