Give a Cheer
This sweet Easter card was made with an adorable image from Lili of the Valley called Easter Hugs. Laila their artist has an enchanting way with sweet critters. I've used the fabulous 6x9 It's Cloudy Stencil by Whimsy Stamps to create the soft cloudy background. I used Tumbled Glass and a touch of Salty Ocean for depth. I've Copic coloured the rest of the scene and added some white gelly roll details in a few places. I diecut the scene with one of Whimsy's Stitched and Pierced Circle Dies, absolute must have stash! I chose a page from Whimsy Stamps new Pastel Plaid Paper Pack, which worked so well with the colours I used for the image. I pulled a sweet doily from my stash, layered this over the paper and wrapped those two layers with May Arts Ivory Twine before adding the diecut panel over the top with thin 1mm loft foam, for a tiny bit of lift to account for the twine behind. All the layers were then added to a square 6x6 kraft card base and paired with a matching kraft envelope. I did distress the paper before gluing it to the card base, with a Tim Holtz Paper Distressing Tool for a bit of added texture and interest.
