I have these dies and really use them often. They cut wonderfully. As to the strings, I use actual string ( which you can drag across your ink pad to color them) and I have used decorative cord or ribbon. But my real go-to is just a black fine-tipped magic marker. I do not go straight down but twist, sometimes curl (like a pigs tail) and usually attach to something. For example I made a birthday card for my great grandson last week. He turned 2 so only used two balloons. I drew strings down to the hand of a little penguin. I let the tails come out the bottom of his hand a bit. Wish I had taken a picture to enclose.
