These molds are the best thing to hit mixed-media and up-scaled furniture since gesso and chalk paint. Seriously, I got them in the mail and used them for a project the same day, and was blown away by how gorgeous they are. I'm wondering whether to invest in duplicates, in order to crank out multiples quickly. High quality silicone molds - exquisite attention to detail. I'll be using them to cast Apoxie Sculpt, polymer clay, paper clay, resin and Smooth-Cast 300. Woo hoo!

I am beyond pleased with these moulds. The detail is incredible. The weight is nice and heavy but easy to remove the clay or whatever product you chose to use. Very very vintage and just perfect for my style.

Mine have not arrived either! Looking forward to trying them out. It is a good question, I would be interested in knowing too. I will soon find out. They can be used for food products, I'll just have to wait and see about freezing. I'm headed to Iron Orchid's web site to see what they say.
As my fellow artists have inquired, I am wondering what other molding materials, resins and the like work well with these new IOD molds. I am experimenting with different materials myself, and will share what I find to work well in these exquisite molds. Thank you to Scrapbook.com, for this Q and A forum!

You can use paper clay, epoxy, resin, wax, soaps, and glue guns and glue work but like you said-you need a larger glue gun that gets hotter than the small ones. They are also food safe too!

i have used clay,,2 part resin, and mod melts by mod podge. All work great although the mod melts are thin and the small glue guns don't quite get hot enough. I prefer alternate melting techniques.
