what a luscious wax. only thing is i am not fond of the tube, i much prefer the finnabair waxes which come in the little tins. hard to open sometime, but there will be less waste than with a tube.
This product gives a white pearl finish to work over white gesso. I am using this product to lighten other metallic wax pastes for some custom colours. Mixed with Vintage Silk (an opal) over black gesso, it give a "Wheat" tone, which is a colour that I was looking for to go with the felt fabric that I have chosen as part of the colour scheme for a range of Christmas ornaments that are currently in the planning stage.
This colour tends to be a bit "moister/wetter" than other wax pastes in this product line, so be wary of using it over other colours as it will "erase" them a little.
This wax leaves a truly pearly touch when rubbed lightly with fingers over any collage textures, plastic bubble beads, metal ephemera, cogs, leaves, paper flowers. Great for collage, cards, journaling.

Yes, it works perfectly for coloring metals! Just let it dry and cure itself. No need to seal.

Is this product used for metals or is it also used through a stencil? What was its intended purpose?

It can be used to color metal, glass, plastic, resin, leather, paper, etc. It cures itself as it dries, so no need to seal. It can be applied with a brush, your finger, or a palette knife. Use all by itself, or over a stencil! It is very versatile. The original release came in round tins, but the tubes are a newer update to help keep the product fresh and easier to dispense.
