    The jury is still out

On a whim, I ordered all three sets of watercolor pencils, just because of the brand. So far I am a little disappointed only because I can’t seem to achieve true watercolor results. Blending will take practice and more intense color will only come with several applications. So far they’re not even as good as my old Staedtler watercolor crayons.

    Distress watercolor pencils

These watercolor pencils are great. I really enjoy playing with them. I like that you can use any of Tim's other distress products with these pencils. Hope to maybe see more colors come out in the future.

    lovely, lovely!

Bought set 1 as it seemed the best all round color choice.
They work beautifully.. i thought they might be like a cara d'ache crayon but they are not. They are hard like a pencil, but blend wonderfully. I thought i could leave a photo too, not sure why not, will try later

  • What is the difference between water color crayons and water color pencils?   By: jpetgolf1 (28-May-24) Helpful Question?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This question has been reported. Thank you!
This question is about a related product.
    • Hello! Both the water color crayons and water color pencils are water soluable, however the color pencils are a bit harder while the watercolor crayons are a softer pigment. Also, the crayons can be smeared with your fingers once on the project, where the pencils cannot. By: Scrapbook.com (28-May-24) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! • Hello, you may be able to use these items with the Distress Watercolor Pencils, we have not been able to test this with these specific products. We use watercolor paint brushes or refillable water brushes. By: Scrapbook.com (26-Feb-24) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you! Report Inappropriate This Answer has been reported. Thank you!

    • Hello, it is not necessary to use a special cardstock for these watercolor pencils. We like pairing them with the Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock link. Seamless blending on porous surfaces makes them perfect for a variety of projects such as cards, scrapbook pages, and journals. Whether you're watercoloring, shading, or drawing, these water-reactive pencils deliver exceptional results. By: Scrapbook.com (01-Feb-24) Helpful Answer?  Yes  |  No Thank you!
