They should have called it the power scout! This little machine is so badazz and beautiful! It's my first SB machine, which I wanted to try out before getting the full size die cutter. It's a heck yes on that now. It operates so good, and is so substantial for a mini that I kinda forget it's a mini. Love it. Ten stars for the pink scout!

Oddly, I feel like my tiny little Sizzix sidekick cuts better. Only takes once pass on that machine, but I've had to pass everything through at least twice on this machine. I'm working on figuring out the exact sandwich to use. I do like that it's bigger than my tiny machine. This is my first Spellbinders machine, so it may just mean I need to get use to it.

This has metal fixings and a slightly larger opening than most other mini die machines. Tonight I saw Simon Hurley got the platinum scout with his name on it and saying that it is a better choice for the above reasons. I didn’t get his obviously I got this pink which was also a big reason I picked this one. Yes I live pink and it sucked me in and sold me but especially after listening to Simon and his reason I am super excited to know I picked a wonderful and hopefully a better machine

I have the Tim Holtz sidekick which I still love but I wanted something much wider and longer to work with so I decided to treat myself to this adorable beautiful rose pink cutting machine. It works great and I’m happy with my purchase the extended surface that the platform provides is a super plus I highly recommend the little Scout Cutting Machine.

I have the Sidekick which I enjoy, but wanted something a little bigger. I decided to get the Scout and it's a perfect size for the dies that are just a little to big for the Sidekick. The only thing I would change would be to add suction to the bottom. I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to someone starting out.

I love the pink platinum scout. I've had my Big Shot forever and I love it. It does take up a lot of space though, it's also not really portable (but neither are the inch thick dies we put through these machines). But little cutie does exactly I need it to do, where I need it. It weighs almost and believe it or not it fits in my purse (bag) along with an envelope with dies, sandwich plates and a folder with paper. Now it's easy to take to a friends.

I've had the largest Platinum machine for many years. It is well-loved but it takes up so much space on my little craft table and it seems like overkill when I'm using small dies, so I decided to get the Scout, and I have zero regrets! It is the perfect size, and when I do put it away, it takes up hardly any space at all. I know my granddaughters will find it much easier to use than the big one (supervised, of course!)
I'm also in love with the 3D embossing folder that came with it. I hope they make more of them to fit this smaller size machine.

I love the new Spellbinders Scout machine! It's the perfect size to keep on my craft table. I like that the sides of the platform fold up for an even smaller size. Spellbinders Universal Plate System is a game changer for die cutting and embossing. But the best part, it's PINK!!!

Hello. I received my Platinum Scout today. I can't wait to use it. There is a small bag with it and I'm not sure what it is. There is a screw and washer, a small pink cap or knob and small Allen wrench. Can someone tell me what it's all for? Thank you.

Hello, thank you for asking for clarification on the Scout machines. Yes, they are the same machine but different colors. The Rose Quartz/Pink is exclusive to Scrapbook.com and has our name on the side, and the black Scout has Simon Hurely's name on the outside panels. Other than that, they function the same.
