I think these pens offer great value. Being new to alcohol markers, I have a lot to learn. I found some of the colors will change depending on the type of paper they are used on. Also with alcohol markers, each brand can react differently with your choice of stamp pad brands. Some experimentation is required, and like anything new, it is a fun learning experience. I do recommend this product. It is packaged very well, all work wonderfully with no dry pens.
This is my first try at alcohol inks. The price is great and the pens are as advertised. However, all the color families lack a very light color. I am disappointed. Having looked at other brands, not including copics, most include 4 choices in a color family. Nuvo includes 3 pens in each color family. In addition, it is very difficult to see the color numbers at the end of each pen. The numbers and color samples are on the narrow end of each pen. It's difficult to see the identification numbers on a storage shelf as well as on the work table because of the shape of the pens. I suggest trying one set first to see if these work for you.
I do like these Nuvo Alcohol Pens; however, I thought "Rich Reds" would be like a Christmas red. These are not Christmasy red colors.
Pens have a rich deep color. I have a problem getting the caps off because of the tapering of them.
I absolutely love these pens but they need to make it where the tops come off easier, I have arthritis & its very hard for me to open them. I am not complaining, I'm just making a suggestion. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
I ordered all the colors. I love the feel of the marker very easy to hold and color. Very happy with all of them
I bought 3 sets of these and 5 sets of American Crafts Markers mostly based on price.
While the American Crafts are very poorly marked (I’ve reviewed them separately, the boxes aren’t marked nor are the pens marked with chisel versus bullet tip end), these Nuevo Markers are beautifully marked.
The boxes tell you the color group, I.e. Sunshine Yellows, Rich Reds. Each pen is clearly marked with bullet versus chisel tip end, as well as having a nice swatch sticker on the barrel.
I think this set is a little close in color to each other where when you’re blending a small area, 3 colors looks more like just 2. My tiny Valentine’s hearts looked almost like just one color.
I agree with another reviewer that said these are odd reds, not the usual and I agree.
But overall, I’m happy with these.
Lovely, they blend nicely and the ink flows well. I recommend them highly.
I love working with nuvo pens, they blend together amazingly and colors are amazing.
