I’m always a little weary to try new essential dies for fear that the quality will leave something to be desired. Fortunately, Scrapbook.com’s dies are of the highest quality and offered at an extremely fair price point compared to similar dies on the market. This set cut through a folded piece of 80lb card stock with ease and left no frays or cracks in my card stock. I would highly recommend these dies to anyone looking to add some essentials into their craft stash.
I am very happy with the nested oval and nested circle dies. I have just recently started using a mini die cutter and am very happy that these dies fit and serve my needs. I am so excited to get these oval dies. There is a good size range. I haven’t used them yet but look forward to all the ways I can use them on my cards.
This is a nice set of oval dies to have for layering or individual use. I'm still finding different ways to use them.

Will these thin metal dies work in a Sizzix Big Shot machine without any additional layers in the sandwich other than what comes with the machine?

All but the largest size should fit in the Sidekick machine as its opening is 2.75 inches wide.

Will these dies cut leather? If yes, what is the maximum thickness they will cut?

These dies are made of thin metal and cut paper beautifully. They were not meant to cut leather. We suggest trying the Sizzix or Spellbinders steel rule dies to cut any thickness of leather. They were meant to cut heavier products like chipboard, fabric, foam, leather and so much more. Sizzix calls them Bigz Dies - link Here is the Spellbinders link to Steel Rule Dies... link I hope that helps.
