Product Description:

Echo Park Paper Company, formed in April 2010, is named after Echo Park, the original home of the silent film. Each of their collections offers a themed set of 12 papers along with two coordinating sticker sheets. The "For the Record" collection is a heritage-themed collection based on trendy shades of black, white, red, green, blue and yellow. There are three coordinating solid color papers that are also double-sided for a total of six matching solids. One of the sticker sheets contains both keyboard- and scrabble-style alphabets with a smaller alphabet in two colors. Echo Park makes high-quality, double-sided papers that are easy to work with.

In Use:

The papers and stickers in the Echo Park "For the Record" collection are obviously designed for heritage layouts, honoring old technology, games, and family. However, the flexibility of the designs and colors make it suitable for a variety of subjects, both male and female.

There is also a 12" x 12" page of journaling cards which can be cut apart and used separately for journaling, tags, or greeting cards.

Tips & Techniques:

  • The Echo Park "For the Record" collection gives you enough papers to create layouts without requiring you to match with other collections. For a quick page, make an entire layout from the collection.
  • Use papers from the "For the Record" collection for Disney layouts. Combine one of the black and white papers with the red tablecloth pattern (red and white dots) for layouts of Mickey or Minnie Mouse. The heritage look of this collection is perfect for layouts about Disney's Hollywood studios.
  • Use the Newsprint paper for baseball layouts.
  • Use the flowered prints for spring layouts and cards.

Project Ideas & Examples:

I used the Stamp of Approval paper for this layout about my son's show. This fabulous paper gives the illusion of a die-cut paper without the expense. I made the half-circle banner from the coordinating solids and added some fun stickers.

This baseball layout by Jennie McGarvey is another example of the flexibility of this collection. The black and white Newsprint combined with the red and white dots are just perfect for her layout about the American pastime.

Finally, here's a quick card that I put together using papers from this collection. All the papers from the collection look great together and the word stickers made it quick to add a greeting. I will probably give this to a female relative for an event like Mother's Day but the flexibility of these papers makes it suitable for many occasions.
