Project Life Meets Stamping

Project Life has become a phenomenon in scrapbooking today. Virtually every company producing scrapbooking supplies is contributing products for those that enjoy documenting their story through Project Life. Products include pre-made cards, small letter stickers, paper clips in fun shapes and transparencies in smaller sizes.

While I love the quick and easy of the pre-made market, I still feel like I am lacking that creative spark when continually using them, so I found creating some of my own cards to be the perfect balance.

To create these cards I pulled out some of my favorite Ali Edwards and Amy Tangerine stamps and had fun making some cards of my own.

Cards 1-4: Create Cards With Repetitive Patterns

One of my favorite things to do for a quick card is to grab my favorite color of ink (which changes daily) and repeat the stamp across the entire card. I make these when I need “filler” cards because I am done with photos and words and have a space to fill.

 Card 1: Love This

To create this card I simply took an Ali Edwards circle stamp and repeated the pattern across the card.

 Card 2: Hello Today

I did the same thing as the first card, only I used metallic gold ink for some shimmer. You do need to make sure you don’t press too hard when stamping as this ink does slide if put down on a slick surface.

 Card 3: Life is Amazing

This card is the same as the ones above, but with a rectangle pattern. I love this look.

Card 4: You Are My Sunshine

I chose three stamps and three stamp colors and alternated them. I love this look for a simple but eye-catching card.

Card 5: The Story of This Evening

This card allows you to flip it up and write inside.

To create this card:

-Start with a white flip card.

-Stamp the front of the card with a wood grain stamp.

-Add wood grain washi tape to the top of the card and the bottom layer at the bottom of the card.

-Stamp a repetitive pattern onto kraft cardstock and round the corners. Adhere to the front of the card.

-Stamp a repetitive pattern onto white cardstock and round the corners. Adhere to the front of the card.

-Stamp “The Story of this Evening” onto white cardstock and round the corners. Adhere to the front of the card.

Add enamel dots to create interest and as an embellishment.

Card 6: Seasonal Card Fall

This card focuses on the season.

To create this card:

-Stamp the leaves quote stamp in the center of a kraft cardstock card.

-Embellish with small leaf stamps in red and orange around the quote.

I hope I have inspired you to pull out your stamps and create some of your own Project Life cards.

Happy creating!
