Am I eligible to enter the contest if I am a resident of a country other than the United States and Canada?

Unfortunately, due to the number of legal restrictions surrounding U.S. companies operating contests for residents of other countries, the contest is restricted to residents of the United States and Canada only. Residents of Puerto Rico and Quebec are not eligible for the contest. This is due to strict laws in those areas with regard to contests. The laws in Puerto Rico require that all promotional materials related to the contest be presented in both Spanish and French, respectively. We apologize for any disappointment this may cause. All decisions regarding the scope of the contest were determined by our attorneys. All inquiries may be directed in writing to our legal counsel:

ATTN: Charles Davis
Davis Miles, PLLC
1550 E. McKellips Rd. Suite 101
Mesa, AZ 85203

Why are residents of Puerto Rico and Quebec restricted from entering your online contest?

This is due to strict laws in Puerto Rico that make residents of that territory ineligible to enter our contest because Puerto Rico law requires that all promotional materials related to the contest be presented in both English and Spanish. Quebec also has very strict laws that require that contests open to residents of Quebec present promotional materials in both English and French. Unfortunately, providing legally acceptable Spanish and French translations of the English rules is not feasible for us. We wish it were otherwise, and hope that you understand.

Can people under the age of 18 enter if they have a signed release from their parent or guardian?

Laws regulate the participation of people under the age of 18 in any contest. Due to the administrative burden that would result from processing parental releases, the contest is open only to people age 18 and older.

Can I submit layouts that are traditionally created?

No. All layouts submitted to the contest must be digital layouts.

Can a previously uploaded layout from my Scrapbook.com gallery be posted to the contest?

Yes provided it is properly submitted as a Digital Layout and in the Biggie Digi contest category.

Can I submit my layout to other contests, magazines, or websites?

No, not during the contest period (including the judgment/review period that extends until the winners have been announced).  Layouts that have been found to have been submitted to other contests, magazines, or websites during the full contest period will be disqualified. Layouts that do not win the Scrapbook.com Layout Contest may be submitted to other contests, magazines, or websites only after winners to the Scrapbook.com contest have been announced.

Can I enter tags or cards to the contest?

No. Only digital scrapbook layouts measuring 8"x8" or larger with a resolution of at least 72 dpi are eligible.

Does a two page layout count as one entry?

Yes provided they are both properly classified as a Digital Layout and in the Bigi Digi contest category, and that is it clear that separate files are meant to be part of the same entry.

Can I upload a two-page layout separately or do I have to stitch the two sides together in a photo editing program?

You can do either. A two-page layout may be uploaded as two separate entries, or you may stitch them together and upload the entire image as one thumbnail. Choose whichever option suits the detail of your layout best.

If I submit more than one layout, will the layouts be judged as a group, or individually?

Our Contest Review Committee will look at each layout individually.

Can I change or edit a layout I’ve already uploaded to the contest gallery, prior to the final contest deadline?

Yes, provided you delete the earlier upload. However, you will lose the layout's comments and other community feedback, which are a component of contest judging.  if you attempt to change or edit any part of your entry after the contest has officially closed, your entries will be removed from the contest gallery and sent to your member gallery. We offer no “last minute” support if this occurs. It is important to get your entries in on time and to be sure they are presented and labeled 100% the way you want them (layout, description, products used, etc.)

How will the contest be judged? (Criteria)

Contest Criteria -
Judging will be based on, but not limited to the following criteria:

  2. Must use at least 50% of Scrapbook.com or ComputerScrapbook.com element kits in layout.

  4. Photo quality
  5. Originality and Innovation
  6. Quality of the submitted scan (we suggest 600x600 up to 1000x1000 in size, 72 dpi, and .jpg format).

If I use a product you carry in your store on my layout, but I don't link to it in the products used section, could my layout be disqualified?

Yes. The layout description may be edited to include these items, until the contest entry time period has ended.

How do I link products to my layouts?

  1. Go to the upload page
  2. Click “browse”
  3. Click “upload”
