This is a photo of my dad taken around 1945 when he was in the army air corps in WWII.He was a 2nd lieutenant and a bombardier. He flew 22 missions that I know of.And if I remember correctly, had nightmares about it.Anyway,I love this photo of him in his barracks surrounded by movie star pin-ups.He has such a sweet expression.
I really had fun doing this lo,even though it was a bit of a pain.I had to find all the girls online, which is not as easy a task as you might think. At first,I even tried to find the same pix of stars that are in the photo!Especially the one on the back of the magazine dad's reading.I think it might be Dorothy Lamour, but not sure.I knew I wanted to cut them out,so I had to find them in just the right positions. Then print them, cut them, and ink them.I decided on 2 of Rita Hayworth,Jane Russell,Ginger Rogers, and of course no pin-up lo would be complete without the fabulous Betty Grable and her million dollar gams!I took a picture of my dad's wings, and cut those out, too.
The background pp is by Dream Street,Father Knows Best collction "Rough Buff".
The striped pp is MME 29th Street Market,"Silly Stripes"
The pp with stars is by Creative Imaginations.
The numbers are Tim Holtz.
And of course I snuck in a couple of Prima flowers! Thanks so much for looking!
