Pat I love that what you scrap always gets a special characteristic and/or story. If sb'ing is about capturing memories you have captured ones that will be treasured for a long long time. And the best part is you do this so beautifully...there isn't one 'off' thing here and every little piece makes such a beautiful whole. tfs
Oh Pat this is gorgeous!!! LOVE the colors of the papers you used and the hanging sign and birdcage die cuts! Love that butterfly embellie too! Beautiful flowers too! Yep, I know that Look... My mom's got several different ones too!
This is just pure perfection Pat!! Love the papers you have chosen here...beautiful distressing, love the hanging sign and the butterflies...Adorable story too...and yes I think everyone's mom has that look!!
Gorgeous, gorgeous!! I love all the layers here, the distressing, the beautiful flowers and butterflies! I love that TM sign, I just may have to get that! Wonderful work!
Pat, there are so many gorgeous details on this but my favorite part has to be the fact that you captured "that look." It is truly special to capture something so personal about someone. I also like how you "hung" some of the embellies - what a cute idea!
Wonderful LO. I love the hanging sign. The flowers are beautiful and I love the birdcage. The story is perfect and reminds me of all the times I rolled my eyes at my mother as a teen.
Boy, you're going to get "the LOOK" for sure!!! Glad I am not in your shoes right now!! It is a lovely lo, full of wonderful distressing, beautiful pp and lovely embellies. Perhaps your Mother won't realize that "its all about the Look" - LOL. thanks for sharing!
You know that look that your mom gets on her face just as she's getting ready to dispense some "motherly advice?" You know the one I'm talking about. It's that look that says, "WARNING! Run. Run fast as you can the other way. Start singing the la-la-la-la, I can't hear you song in your head!"
Well, this is MY mom's look. I don't remember who she was talking to, and I really wasn't TRYING to capture it, but when I downloaded my camera disk last Thanksgiving - there it was. The Look. All I could think of was, "I'm glad she's not looking at the camera, because that would mean she was talking to ME."
The next second there will be a funny little smile and then her dry wit and hilarious sense of humor will come rolling out of her mouth.
Don't get me wrong. My mom is full of great advice. But the stuff that follows THIS look is not usually advice you want to hear or need to follow. It's normally some zinger that just states the obvious - but boy do you feel six years old when you get it.
Subject Challenge - Bit 'O Blarney : I swung a little butterfly charm off the birdcage. It's colored with some alcohol ink, then bling'ed up with some Smooch paint.
Distressed in March : The flower in the lower left and at the peek-a-boo tear are both handmade
