Another really great heritage page - I'm loving the way you're doing your journaling . . . I must say that your grandfather continued to be quite dashing even as he aged - wasn't he lucky to do things like meet Joe Louis?
I remember my dad talking about Joe Lewis...awesome you have this photo probaly worth something even though I am sure you never sell....what a perfect lo for this picture!!!!
I can't believe how versatile this kit is! I made a light, breezy layout (Life Moments) with this same kit and you'd never know it! So different! I added some Dusty Attic chipboard that I felt resembled the boxing ring. I also aged the chipboard star and his last name with TH distress crackle paint and ink.
For those who do not know, Joe Louis was the Heavy Weight Champion of the World (boxing), still thought by many to be the best ever. My grandfather was director of recreation for the Navy, so got to do a lot of cool things, such as host Joe Louis in Hawaii. My Grandfather was not a small man by the day's standards, at 6 foot, he is still dwarfed by Mr. Louis!
