Michelle, I was ready to toss this piece, and then I thought of your challenge. What started out life as a rather large card for Cindi's Layered Stencil, Mask, Stamp Challenge now has new life as a 3“ x 3” mini-card. Thank you for the challenge that saved my window card. The second scan shows the mini-card next to what replaced it for Cindi's challenge. http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/gallery/member/108705-djc/1894470-wf13-layered-stencil-mask-stamp-challenge/. Anyone know?Stamp Zia Color Wash Jewels, Blue TopazDylusions Stencil, Luscious LeavesDistress Stain, Peeled PaintTombow Marker, light grayI had started out using the window template for the mortise mask. I sprayed over it before stamping the cat. That was mistake number one because when I stamped the cat at the end, I ended up with a blue cat; but I'm getting ahead of myself. After spraying with the blue topaz spray, I dabbed Distress Stain through the stencil. I'd never used Distress Stain before and optimistically thought I could add some shading so I dabbed on Shabby Shutters and then Peeled Paint–way too much stain. It went under the stencil and made a mess. I kept going because I wanted to practice. It was easier after that–Peeled Paint only and just quick short dabs. I stamped the cat and used a small paintbrush with bleach to remove most of the blue color and colored the cat with a Tombow Marker. So I ended up with a big window with very splotchy leaves at the top and blue spray on the window panes. That's when I figured it would make a good mini-card and headed for the trimmer. (I'm totally ignorring that bit of green on the window pane. Who has perfectly clean window panes anyway?TFL.Daria
