Shadow boxes inside the Configurations book. Every box is lined with pages from a copy of Sense and Sensibility.
Box #1 measures about 1 3/4" x 2 3/4". - Background is a piece of brown aida cloth, which came with a cross-stitch kit I had bought and served only to hold the needle that came with the kit. - Tag cut from a book page using the Sizzix/Ellison Designs Thick Cuts "Scalloped Tags" die. - Star embellishment from the Oxford collection by Basic Grey. - Wooden glasses from the Hipster collection by Basic Grey, colored with Carbon metallic chalk ink by Prima, with vellum glued in place for the lenses.
Box #2 measures about 1 3/4" x 1 3/4". - Drawer cut from the In The Attic collection by Kaisercraft, resting on the edges of the front of the box. - Cards punched with the File This squeeze punch by Fiskars. - I put an eyelet through the drawer knob on the paper, and added a little wooden circle on top of a fake drawer pull.
Box #3 measures about 1 3/4" x 1 3/4". - Background paper from the Oxford collection by Basic Grey - Typewriter key by K&Company. - The stack of books with glasses is from one of the four player tokens from Trivial Pursuit Book Lover's Edition.
Box #4 measures about 1 3/4" x 1 3/4". - Background from a tag by American Crafts. - The typewriter is from one of the four player tokens from Trivial Pursuit Book Lover's Edition.
Box #5 measures about 3 3/4" x 2 3/4". - In the farthest part of the background, the wooden backside of a formica sample. - The definition-printed vellum is by Tim Holtz, bumped forward with some leftover foam core. - The Scrabble tile letters were by EK Success. - The books are an assortment of 1/12 scale dollhouse books, to which I applied some ink on the page edges as gilding.
Box #6 measures about 5 3/4" x 3 3/4". - In the farthest part of the background is a piece of marbled paper I made with Mom a few months ago. - The catalog card was purchased on eBay and formerly belonged to the Detroit Public Library. It's bumped forward with some leftover foam core, as are the tags below. - Wooden tags by Favorite Findings. - Embellishments on the tags from the Oxford collection by Basic Grey.
