We were told we would board a small train for the first 1/2 - 3/4 mile to get us to the Elephanta Caves but to be prepared if it didn't run. It was very old and run-down and some days it just won't go and everyone has to walk to the caves. Considering it was over 100 degrees and humid as well, we were glad the train was running today. I don't know how – it was really in bad shape.

Once we got to the cave we went to a covered area where our guide explained everything we would be seeing. I asked a young Indian mother if I could take a picture. To my surprise, she took her baby and put her on my lap! Then everyone around started saying, "Grandma! Grandma!"
