SHCG: Look at you! Your pic is as cute as your journaling. I collected stickers, too, and had a page just for my scratch-n-sniffs. In fact, my sticker collections were going to be my focus for this challenge. I did the turtle drawing also, but never sent it. So that's what happens, huh? I love that diecut pp and how you muddied it up and the notebook paper. My only critique is that the layered flowered overwhelms your photo. I like how your writing borders the photo, so I probably would have done the same, only switch places between the photo and the flower. That way, the writing and photo are the first things you see, and the flower is last when you get to the end of the journaling. I really like what the lace brings to the page, and I love how the last thing we read poses the question back at us.
SHCG: The layering of the flowers is super cute... I love how it brings the background pp in. The bling circle is great- I love those. :) My eye keeps coming to the white space in between the photo and the flower though- maybe a scrap of ribbon fastened there with an interesting metal item would prevent that? But it's great as is... you did a great job!
SHCG: Marlene, this is utterly beautiful! Your letter made me a little emotional because it was so wonderfully written and really channeled the younger you. It is powerful! The girly shabby-chic look is so perfect here. I love the layered flower and the embellishment at the top left. They coordinate really well and balance the layout. I am loving the picture at the bottom right with the bling circle. The inking around the picture is perfect on this layout. My only suggestion would be to ink the letter just to make the white on white pop. If it is already stuck maybe you could take a pen and trace around it. You could use the same color as the mat and it would look amazing. I love this the way it is, though. Fabulous, sweetheart!
SHCG - Wow Marlene, this is a stunning challenge response. I love your use of that soft vintage-y photo along w/ the pretty pp you chose for this, they work so well together. Look at that pic, you are such a cutie-pie!! I adore how positive you come across in the journaling, LOVE how comforting & sunny your younger self comes across to soothe the present-day you w/ uplifting words & those tiny hearts & smileys. Great to hear about that drawing test & your scratch-n-sniff sticker love (didn't we all have that??). Your use of embellies is just perfect. Sure, I could see the title being a little larger, but truly, this is an astoundingly wonderful page as is. Terrific work, TFS!
SHCG: What a gorgeous LO! The pp is perfect because it has that feel of a few decades ago. (LOVE your pants in that photo btw!) I love the colors, the journaling is perfect and the flowers and accent on your face are the perfect touches. I think most of all i love how you posed the question to the reader of the page, making them think of what they would say! It almost makes it interactive! Excellent!
SHCG: Oh wow Marlene! This is gorgeous (into my faves btw!). I do agree with Janet about enlarging the title a little bit. I love the layered flower (what is that second largest layer?) and all the layers.
SHCG: Marlene, I absolutely love this. Your journaling and photo are PERFECT. I love the heart with the title as well. The ONLY thing I wish were different is that I want the title slightly larger. This is a beautiful page and I think you will cherish it in the future (your kids too!)
This is my entry for our BWC layout: "The Kid" speaks to me. The whole concept is what would your child self say to you. I decided to write a letter to myself from my "younger self". TFL :)
