    Love it (10 June 2012)

Very cool borders. Easy to use. You can do just the outside punch or just the inside. Works great. I'm using 12 x 12 paper. Have not tried using anything smaller.

Delicate design but fun to use (10 June 2012)

This punch creates a fairly delicate cutout, but it's really fun to use. You can cut mutiple times and string the cut pieces together to form a sort of chain. You need a slim glue pen to glue it to the page though. It's a unique shape that I haven't seen anywhere else though so it's very useful.

Thought I would like this more (10 June 2012)

I was really excited when I ordered this punch. Unfortunately, I found it to be a little disappointing. It punches quite close to the edge of the page when you have the paper inserted correctly. And, it can be difficult to line the paper up, despite the guides, which then causes the stars to be right off the edge of the page. I've ruined a lot of corners with this punch. I won't use it on a full sheet of paper when I need to count on the corner coming out right the first time.

    Must have (10 June 2012)

This is a "must have" punch if you're doing a scrapbook with Disney. It can be used so often, with different colors, paper textures, etc. for lots of different looks. Mickey can be a stand-out page decoration or can be peeking out from behind pictures, etc. Use in combination with the medium Mickey Icon punch for a variety of sizes. When I heard "whale" I did expect this punch to be larger, maybe like a 3" Mickey, but that could just be my inexperience with scrapbooking. Still, it's large enough to use for corner decoration and lots of other things.

  • My favorite paper (16 August 2013)

DCWV Once Upon a Time stack is perfect for many different uses. I used a lot of it for a scrapbook of our visit to Universal Studios, Harry Potter/Hogsmeade pages, Mythos pages, also a couple pirates pages from our time at Disney. You could use it for Halloween, make-believe, school plays, weddings, travel. There are so many fanciful pages that you can use it for just about anything. There is definitely a fanciful feel about all the pages...mermaids, dragons, princes/princesses, etc. So much fun to use. I highly recommend it!

Great Intentions, Room for Quality Improvement (26 March 2018)

This weekend I was able to spend several hours scrapbooking on my new Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat. Upon first inspection I was not that impressed with the quality of the workmanship. The printing is on a sheet that is stuck to the back of the glass and there are bubbles in it, especially around the rubber feet. The glass seems to be sticky around the edges where the printed backing was applied. Also, the white mat that sits on top of the right side was crumpled up, leaving wrinkles that didn't smooth out, and I noticed it fraying at the bottom edge. For $40, I would expect this whole product to be in perfect condition on arrival. However, the heavy and large nature of the item makes me reluctant to pay to return/exchange it. If you can buy one local so you can see it first, I would advise that as the best option. I did order 2 of these (one for my Mom also) and the other one had the same problem with the bubbles near the rubber feet, but the top mat was in better shape.

Despite the quality issues described above, I gave this four stars because I really enjoyed using it. I took advantage of the glass for cutting as well as playing with distress crayons. It cleaned up very nicely. I used the white mat for gluing and that also cleaned easily. I did not use the white glass as a color palate yet. Overall, I liked the size and I think I will really like all the features when I have more time to use them. It's a very heavy piece of glass and you shouldn't have to worry about it moving around your desk. I found that it stayed in place.

As a work surface, I liked the black background for most papers. It was a little difficult when I was working on a black page, but otherwise the paper stood out beautifully.

My overall assessment is that this product is a terrific idea, with room for improvements in product quality and/or packing and shipping. It does ship with protectors on the corners of the glass to prevent breakage. Somehow, the inside small white mat needs to be better protected.

Poor product and even worse customer service from Tonic Studios (05 August 2018)

I would certainly not recommend this product to a friend. I ordered 2 of them on May 30, 2018. The quality of both "rulers" is poor; they do not line up with the measured lines on the media mat when you place the guide lip along the edge of the mat. One is so skewed off the media mat's marked lines that using it will not give you a straight cut or a straight line. The other is mildly skewed and the difference wouldn't be too noticeable. Neither is perfect.

What I am calling the "ruler," for lack of a better term, is the long clear straight edge. It is not actually marked with measurements, as a ruler would be, the measurement lines are on the media mat. If your paper is lined up with the marked lines on the media mat, you would need to also have this "ruler" be straight with those lines in order to make a straight cut.

I did not attempt to use the "ruler" until about a month after I ordered the product. When I learned of the problem, I emailed Tonic Studios customer service immediately (June 28, 2018). I sent pictures of the problem and communicated with them multiple times. Over a month after my first inquiry, the "fix" I was provided was to unscrew the screws, straighten the ruler and tighten again. Since the screws go into two immovable holes, that did not fix the problem. 1) I don't feel I should have to fix a faulty product when it's brand new. The manufacturer should make it well. 2) Any decent company would have long ago apologized and sent me another product, one that had actually been checked for quality before it shipped. This experience has certainly soured me on Tonic Studios products since I now know they will not provide timely customer support.

Potential buyers, be aware that you may get a bad one. You should check right away. Maybe scrapbook.com would be better with their customer service. I did not try to return/exchange with scrapbook.com because I had already thrown out the packaging and it was a month after my purchase. I thought the manufacturer would stand by their product. I was wrong.

    Poor Design (16 October 2018)

This product claims to be able to hold 48 pens or pencils. The way the center insert is affixed too close to one of the outside flaps, you cannot put pens or pencils on both of the facing flaps as they crash into each other when you try to close it. You can see it in this picture. Envision putting pens in the bands closest to the spine on both pages. It can only happen when the holder is open. It's a ridiculous design. I had stupidly hoped that what I thought I saw was wrong. "They must have a way to utilize the loops I see," I thought. No, they sure don't! Save yourself some money and don't buy this poorly designed item.

    You'll use every sheet! (06 August 2019)

I just got this paper pad today and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! DCWV, this is your best one yet! There are lots of uses for this card stock. The obvious one is Halloween layouts and I'm currently working on a Halloween album. The designs are a tad creepy, but much more interesting and unique than the standard Halloween paper pads of orange/purple/green/black. Also, it's terrific quality card stock, not flimsy paper. Generally when I buy a card stock pad, it gets down to the last few pages and I don't use them because I'm just not excited about every page. In this pack I AM excited to use every single page. In fact, I may buy a second pad so I can use both sides of each sheet. There are 2 of each, but if you like doing a 2-page layout with matching backgrounds, then you need 2 more to use the other side! Uses other than Halloween might include Harry Potter layouts (potions, Slytherin/snakes, dinosaurs, and medical). Lastly, my two absolute favorite pages are the roses with creepy, shiny eyes in the center and the page with potted Venus Flytraps. I could see using either for an overgrown garden, haunted house, etc. Love this pad. It's so unique. Keep 'em coming DCWV!

  • Best Scrapbook Protector (10 January 2020)

I don't know if these boxes are intended to hold loose scrapbook pieces that haven't yet been placed in a book, or the books themselves. I use them to hold and protect my completed books. They are the only thing I've found that are large enough, as I tend to use big albums (Close to My Heart) and I expand them to be 3-4" thick. I have placed my scrapbooks in these boxes and then I stand the box on its side in a bookshelf. I will say that I've also used wide, clear packing tape to reinforce the box because they are not quite as sturdy as I would like, for this application. They used to have one that had a fun pattern (lady bugs, I think) and I never see that any more, but the plain color ones work just as well.

  • Very Useful (10 January 2020)

If you use the Totally Tiffany Scraprack system, these are one of the most helpful page configurations. They are particularly good for sticker sheets and you can fit 4 in one page (two, back to back, in each pocket).

    Lacking Magic (22 April 2021)

I really wanted to like these. They sound great. The videos looked great. Unfortunately, they don't work great. I used one of these long ones on my long Big Shot platform to cut a slimline card die. I made sure the die was fully over the platform, with the Magic Mat on the bottom, the hard plate on the top and the die facing down. The long sides of the die cut but neither of the short sides cut. I readjusted and tried again with a new sheet of cardstock. Same result. I also tried using the shorter Magic Mat when I got it and sometimes dies would cut, sometimes not. I'm back to using normal Sizzix plates. I'm glad these weren't super expensive, but I did buy 3 of them (different sizes). Save your money.

Beautiful, Multiple Uses (22 April 2021)

I have lots of colors of the Cosmic Shimmer Lustre Polish. This one is particularly beautiful. CS Lustre Polish is great way to get the sparkle of glitter without the mess. You can use it with the sponge applicator or a palette knife. You can put it through stencil, use it to edge cardstock, mix it with a little water and use it with a splatter brush. However, you use it, it's always beautiful.

Best COVID Sayings (22 April 2021)

PhotoPlay made the best paper collections for scrapbooking or sending cards during the pandemic. This is a collection that overlaps another, but it has some great cut aparts with clever sayings. Highly recommend.

Not up to Totally Tiffany’s Usual Standard (10 November 2023)

I have an old Totally Tiffany Lois bag, like this, that does not have a closable top and I have a newer one that has a well designed closable top where the zipper fully separates in the top can be tucked into the bag. If you don’t want to use it,. Both of my other bags are so helpful when carrying my craft supplies. This one has a zipper right across the center of the top opening of the bag and it does not fully separate.. It’s an extremely poor design as you’re not able to access the entire top opening. That is going to make it much harder to load this bag fully. I’m very disappointed in this design. Also, it doesn’t have the outside pockets that the newest Lois bag has. The raspberry cheetah colored material at the bottom seems cheaper than with the standard solid color bags. The only good thing I have to say about it is that it is a fun color, but I would never buy it for that alone. Do yourself a favor and buy one of the standard Lois bags because they are amazing but this one is not
