The Paper Piercer has a comfortable handle grip for your comfort when working with different materials and has a removable cap for safety and storage. The mat is made of the same type of foam between the rubber image and the woodblock of a mounted stamp and measures approximately 12" x 10 1/2" x 1/2" and the piercer measures approximately 5 3/8" x 1/2".
Wasn't sure if this would be something that would be useful. Well, I'll tell you it really is! Your stamps come out so much clearer, with less problems. I make my own greeting cards, and use this almost every day. And the paper piercer with the other side of the mat works wonders too. You won't regret buying this little extra.
When I watched the video about the product I was skeptical to the statement "secret weapon". I mostly made my purchase based on the piercing side of the mat and had little faith in the stamping side. I was completely unaware of how my clear polymer stamps were coming out. Using this mat allowed me to have clear, precise, complete stamped images. It helped me fall in love with my clear stamps again. I would definitely recommend this to others and ask them to take the same challenge I did.
I've been into rubber stamping since the early 1990s. Mostly, I've always gotten acceptable image results, even in those early days. However, this simple product tempted me since I'm now older and not as "in control" of my hand movements as I once was. This product does exactly what it claims to do and I have never experienced such neat, clean, precise images. I haven't yet used the paper punch parts yet but even if I never use them, I would still recommend this product.
I bought this and wondered if it would really make that much difference in my stamping. Well, yes, yes it did. I still try stamping without it, then using the mat, and it is always better with the Secret Weapon! This is totally worth the small investment to achieve the best possible results with your stamps.
Excellent product! After having breast cancer & a quadruple bypass, this item has allowed me to stamp again, without too much trouble. Wow. I had no idea acrylic stamps needed a surface that has "give". This stamp mat has improved my stamping by leaps and bounds. I now get clean crisp images.
I have heard people use mouse pads, this mat is less "squishy". The mat is light weight and has two textures. The main one is on the stamping area and the other is the narrow part for the piercing. I love that it comes with the piercer since there is usually die cut involved when I stamp.
I think this well thought out stamping mat and piercer would be a good tool for anyone who has stamps.
Wow I can't believe it! It makes a big difference in the finished picture that is stamped. I use it all the time now.
I have been stamping for quite some time now, however, I never used a stamp mat before. It makes a big difference in the quality of the stamp, especially in the small details.

Does anyone know about the paper piercer that came with the Stampers Secret Weapon? Mine came with a black pen looking thing, but no sharp metal point - is it inside this black thing and if so how do you open it? Don't mean to act dumb, but it really has me stumped!

Yeah I finally got it open and the piercer works great! It just takes a bit more muscle than I was willing to use, for fear of breaking it. The end that twists - pulls off - and let me tell you it is hard to get off, but once off it goes on and off like a breeze. So thank you for the help and I hope this answer helps the next person!!
