This ink is awesome!! It actually stamps a little lighter white, then dries darker and is fabulous for darker papers. You can stamp over it in another color like I did on my project (ghost or shadow stamping) or just use it alone. Unlike pigment ink, you don't have to let it dry. It does not rub off at all and did not have to wipe my stamps in between when I was shadow stamping. This is a must have ink for any collection.

This white dye ink stamps with a slightly see-through/faded look, as I would expect from a dye ink as opposed to the opaqueness of a pigment ink.
It looks very nice on darker colours, but also shows up on lighter ones and it will be great for adding some texture to my stamping. It dried quickly on paper but was still easy to wash off my stamps.
I'm excited to use it for snowflakes on my Christmas cards!

I have Stampin up white, craft die as well as Colorbox white ink. I've been looking for a white based ink that leaves a more solid image so I though I'd try the Umbrella Craft ink. I have to be honest and say this one is much worse than my other two ink pads. The stamped image is very opaque; not what I want.
I bought this product hoping to get a nice white imprint on some dark colors but instead the stamped image looks faded and beige. Very disappointed.

Can you use this ink on painted wood?

Dye inks are really JUST for papercrafting. Other things like wood, fabric, transparencies, photos etc, you really need Staz On: link

Unfortunately, the Umbrella Ink pads are not recommended to use directly on photos.
