Scrapping with Old Polaroids

Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to scrap with old polaroid pictures? I'm talking about both the 80's & 90's style that have the wide white bottom as well as the 60's & 70's style that had the photo pasted to some sort of cardboard backing. Just not sure how to best use them.... I'm guessing cutting them isn't a good idea, but am at a loss.

Scan them and print them out. They have chemicals that will be bad in the scrapbook.

Scan them because they crack, I have a ton of old ones that are falling apart.

I have a bunch from all of those years. My dad loved his Polaroid cameras! LOL I am planning on scanning them & reprinting them. Some have gotten darker too.

I get that they could change over time but it would be a shame to loose that polaroid look! Maybe scan and print them but mount them on white cardstock so they still have that polaroid look to them...

Thanks for this thread! I have some pics of mine and DH's first Christmas eve and have been thinking of either using the originals or scanning them first.
I also like the idea of matting on white cardstock to keep the polaroid look.

Definitely scan and reprint and definitely keep the white border..at least on some.. great spot for journaling and embellishing and as another poster said keeps that polaroid look which is definitely part of the era.

I never would have though on matting on white cardstock. Didn't the old Polaroids have more white on the bottom?

as it hasn't specifically been mentioned yet do NOT cut polaroids. The chemicals will start leaching out.
I scanned some polaroids and printed them out for this giant card (they are on the right).
What is nice is you can make the printout any size you want. I kept the feel of a polaroid because it is part of the history and dates the photos.
